Well it is done for historical accuracy which is something the creators of the Fate series takes very seriously. That is also the reason that all female servants are dressed in clothing that so accurately reflects the location and time in which they lived. Joking aside I think he has a lion head because his summoning went wrong.

I think it's ebcause he got summoned as a concept rather than as the hero, like it happens with jack the ripper.

I am still all for Thomas Edison being a beefy lion, but I don't know how I feel about him being in a swimsuit. I mean, it's Thomas Edison, but he's also a beefy lion in a swimsuit.

I am so confused. XD
