While I do like Moteki, I really wish this had been an announcement for Mitsurou Kubo's "Again!!" instead. I like it so much more and really want to finish reading it.

Yay! I'm really happy for Zaregoto, hope we get all 9 volumes one day. City is also a nice addittion. Also, My boy seems really intresting, I tend to trust Vertical with these kind of releases.

Wow! My Boy actually got licensed I'm happy but that's kind of surprising given the content. I'll be pre-ordering it

Vertical is my favorite publisher, so this round of licenses kind of disappoints me greatly.

Is My Boy just a straight up romance between a 30 year-old and a 12 year-old? If so, gross. Can't believe they'd license it.

Moteki looks more interesting than the rest. It's got an almost old school feel to it. Since it's only 4.5? volumes, I think I'll end up getting it.

So far, I don't see any romantic elements regrading the two protagonist. I'm hoping it doesn't go down that route either.

Hyped for CITY, I read the first chapter fan TLed (because that's all there is, iirc) and it seems like Arawi's usual shtick but with more emphasis on having a serialized story through all the trademark craziness.
I hope it has the same translator as their release of the Nichijou manga. They really made the dialogue and humor shine bright in English, moreso than any subs for the anime or scanlations of the manga conveyed.

Well, this is the same company who published stuff like A Girl on the Shore, so they're not afraid of "taboo" material. Which is good on them, honestly.

I hope you're right. The description hinting that the relationship between the two is "something more than parent-and-child" and some sites listing it as an age-gap romance has me incredibly worried though. I guess I can hope that if it was straight up romanticizing pedophilia no company would want to touch it with a ten-foot pole.

That sounds good. I like the nonsequitors of Nichijou, but get bored when there's no serialized story to go with it.

Girl on the Shore isn't taboo. The couple are schoolmates around the same age using each other for sex. They aren't related, and the sex scenes are consensual (as far as I remember. There's reference to nonconsensual acts, but they take place off-screen). It's depressing, because they don't love each other and know it probably won't end well, but it's no more taboo than any typical soap opera.
My Boy sounds like someone really liked the second half of Bunny Drop and wanted to gender flip it. Possibly, it's not, but if the relationship remains completely platonic, why would they hint to "something else" in the blurb? ("No company would publish something with a hint of pedophilia"--quite a few titles have already been published that could be described as such, actually).

I mean, there's a line that needs to be drawn.
Exploring sex = fine, no problem
Possibly endorsing pedophilia = nope,nooope
If this ends up being like, say, the actual novel Lolita and shows how a pedophile ruins a kid's life, then I'm all for it. That kind of "taboo" content is fine. But I'm honestly not going to get my hopes up with this.

I've heard that stuff like Kodomo no Jikan was so gross with stuff like that that even Seven Seas decided not to publish it, but you're probably right. That kind of stuff does get published.
Oh, and so I'm not just responding to others, it's cool that they got some of Kubo's stuff, even if I'd be more interested in Again!!!

I've had Strangulation preordered on Amazon since June 13th, so I'm not sure why they chose to announce that license at Anime Expo. Maybe they just wanted to remind people?

Sometimes pre-orders are up before they officially announce something, I have seen this happen a lot with Vertical and Kodansha.
