Tokuen Ranbu probably isn't exclusive, before people start complaining about it.

No real surprise. I imagine some of these shows will be in a similar situation to The Great Passage with being streamed on regular Prime Video in Canada and other such territories.

*sigh* And here I was silly enough to hope Ballroom wouldn't be subjected to Strike. And I'm saying this as someone with a Prime account; I don't know if Strike's small library is enough to justify yet another subscription fee...

Definitely not yet. We need as much people to avoid helping Amazon in the slightest until they get out of the industry or fix their horrible player. Closed Captioning subs from a professional company in 2017... timing issues, lack of half-way decent queue system, and of course the tiniest library of any streaming site.
Best way to force a change is by not giving them their money. Not that they even care anyways. At least Touken Ranbu should be on multiple services.

Wow, guess that means they're gonna flop.
Real shame too. I could definitely see these shows being hits here in the west but I guess no one's gonna watch them now. At least not legally.
I mean, my friend gave me permission to use their Amazon account so I'm probably gonna be able to watch these shows anyway. But for you guys in America who have to deal with a double paywall? Well... you're screwed. As is anyone in Japan hoping these shows would be a hit in America.
I hope Amazon is paying the Japanese side a crap ton of money. If not, I have a feeling that low viewership is gonna encourage them to take their business elsewhere in the future.

I continue to agree that the double paywall sucks for Strike. But Amazon has money, and no matter how much you moan and bitch, they are not getting out of anime for at least a few years. I prefer Crunchyroll's model, but I hope the shows in Strike are still successful.
If you have to pirate, pirate but don't punish the shows.

No, they aren't going to flop, because Amazon did pay truckloads of money for streaming rights. If other companies would've paid more money (CR, Funimation), then you bet they would've had these instead, but they didn't pay more money, end of story.

Definitely not yet. We need as much people to avoid helping Amazon in the slightest until they get out of the industry or fix their horrible player. Where did you get the idea that they had hard subs? They use a close captioning system. Not only can you turn the subs on and off at will, but you can also change the color and size on most of their platforms.
And I also don't see what your issue is with their queue system. Their watchlist allows you to add shows, keeps track of what you've watched, and saves your spot inside each episode.
I'll give you that they have a small library, but since they just started, it's too be expected. But you don't have to make up stories about hard subs to make it seem worse.

Oh look the Amazon lover of the forums coming back every article to defend them. I was incorrect in referring them as Hard subs. It's a fixed Sub track that doesn't have positional data (often referred to as a CC system) which is absolutely awful. Thus they cannot translate onscreen information the same time as dialogue. Which hasn't been done by a professional anime company in I don't even know how long. Hell even fansubs haven't done it in 10+ years because it's the absolute worst system you can use. There is not a worse system. Just looks at all the information that was lost while watching Re:Creators because they couldn't properly translate/display on screen info.
And their queue is the basic possible system of a queue. It doesn't give you any information when the episode will release (and they never release shows at the same time every day, it constantly changes.) You cannot rearrange shows in the order you want in your queue either. Name a worse queue system, especially in an app form.

Something tells me that you would not be complaining as much if Anime Strike charged $50 a year instead of $160+

That is still not hard subbed. Hard subs don't allow you to turn them off and are encoded onto the video, like TAN and Funi use to use for their streams. If you want to complain about their close captioning system, then feel free to do so. But don't use incorrect terms that you clearly don't know what they mean.
As for their queue system, it functions identically to every other streaming service I use, so I still don't see what the issue is. But there are differences depending on what streaming device you are using, so that could possibly explain it. I've had no issues moving things in my queue, or adding and removing titles when I want.
And the reason I post is because the majority of complaints are from people who have never used the service. Some do like you and attempt to make it sound much worse than it actually is. Not to mention, I get tired of the whining and entitlement, especially when it comes to an entertainment product that you don't absolutely need. No one is going to suffer negative health effects from not being able to stream a show exactly when and where they want.

Touken Ranbu, Dive, Ballroom, and Hitorijime My Hero. Amazon's definitely going hard after the female-targeted shows this season. If they get Konbini Kareshi too, it'll be pretty much a clean sweep.

To be honest I couldn't care less about the price as a pay for every single streaming service available in North America for Anime. What I do hate is everything Anime Strike does is worse than every other competitor. You wouldn't notice, but I never used to complain about the Prime Anime shows because there were so little of them and like Hulu, anime was just an afterthought and thus I didn't expect a full experience.
Then comes Anime Strike, with Amazon touting a "Full Anime experience for fans!" and it turns out to be the worst worst anime service in existence. Not only do they charge more for it than all other services (if thought as a standalone service for a customer without Prime) but every aspect of it I listed is bottom of the barrel. Then they use their buying power to force fans to watch it on their inferior service and that's when everyone complains.
And that's not even considering the poor souls outside of North America that dragonrider_cody doesn't give 2 shits about. They don't need their anime legally right? As long as Amazon is getting more money who cares?

I can't wait for Anime Strike to fold and Sentai's Hidive service to thrive. Their beta site that's been open for a week is a lot more functional and has a larger catalog than Anime Strike does.
