Well...However good of a career Mr. Tanaka had before this, it has a high chance of being ruined forever...and it's all thanks to a drug plant.

He has brought shame on the honorable Japanese Entertainment Industry. Shame!
Sepukku is the only answer for such a travesty.

I'm scared of drugs on a personal level, but when I hear about people I don't know getting in trouble for them it makes me feel real sympathetic. Japan's too straight-laced to legalize anything, though :[

I'm still curious as to why he was pulled over in the first place if they didn't think he was driving under the influence.

I will never understand countries that pretend marijuana is on the same level as shit like cocaine and meth. That's like comparing tea and alcohol. Quite literally, actually.

I have seen people start with marijuana, and when is not enough, go to cocaine, then to heroine and end in a coffin.
Yes. is not everybody but happens.
Using marijuana in a medical way is ok, but recreational use that is not supervised by a doctor is a first step in a darker world.
Now, i only hope he gets clean and can return in the future. All the best to him.

This is kinda funny as alcohol is attributed to a significant larger host of negative issues, yet Japan (and many other countries) seem to have no issue with that.
I know people who smoke pot and only pot for recreation with no issues and I'm willing to bet that is more of the norm rather than the scenario you told.

In fact, drinking problems can also get Japanese artists under scrutiny and can bring them down.
Not as bad as drugs, because is nor illegal, if the artist is not a minor or if is not drink driving, but in not good either.
And if we are talking about idols, alcohol is one way ticket to get fired.

Probably im been too harsh because i watched that happen, but any substance that cause dependence, including alcohol, can take people down and, at least from my point of view, there must be control for abuses.
But of course i also respect different point of views like yours .

As someone who doesn't drink or do drugs I don't think we differ that much as to what we believe can come from doing either. I think some people like me look at a few substances and see a far less likelihood of negative issues and are okay with people using them(with some risk).
But I alway appreciate polite dialog on issues like this.

If you are talking about the USA, then so many of our laws are screwed-up for so many crimes.
