I was expecting actual lists and this article was really disappointing and comes off kind of lazy after the 80s. It bunches characters as "appearing" on the lists of those decades, doesn't say when or where they placed. This would have been more informative if it had simply been a timeline of the top 1 or even 3 girls of each year with no other information, and would have taken less time to read and provided more information.

Post 80s it gets really repetitive with still recognizable girls appearing over and over with some shifts. It helps if you have the graphic open while reading but there's not exactly an elegant way to embed it.

I did not expect to see Inazuma Eleven at all, much less claiming 3 of the top 5 two years in a row. And what's Haruka Nanami doing up there? Reverse-harem heroines can be best girl?

why the hate for Lacus Clyne i fine she was and is a decent character and i would trade any moe blob/tsundere/yandere/Kuudere etc categorize characters that we get today for a chick like her anyday just my opinion lol |

Gundam SEED doesn't have characters. It has character concepts. It doesn't have characters themselves. Most "characters" have no discernible personality past their basic use in the plot. This is why CE era Gundam is so soulless and leaves zero impression. |

Well i say give looking at list of these females yet only Lacus Clyne is only person with 4 times on 1st on a top 5 list while others got few 2 or 1 time.
Yet only Lacus still among them all oh what feel a GS era person indeed kneel to Lacus. |

The last five years include mostly girls from series with a large number of female fans, possibly a reflection of the changed subscriber base of the magazine.
