I love Evangelion, and would not mind watching rebuilds, prequels, sequels, and assorted spin-offs until the end of times. However, seeing a completely new anime property from Anno-sensei would be the most exciting thing ever.

There's going to be a Gunbuster sequel. The only way they can salvage the franchise after Diebuster would be to put Anno back on board. I would pay stupid amounts of money to get Anno back on Sci-Fi. |

It wasn't the best movie, but it wasn't the absolute worst. It had a lot of flaws but people forget that it followed 2.22 which was a freaking masterpiece (I know I just triggered a bunch of people with that) I wish people would back off with the constant barrage of hate and just wait for 4.44 to come out before taking a dump on it. |

It's like, Anno is letting hardcore Evangelion fans wait for the last Rebuild film if his next project isn't that one.
But then, it may get pretty divisive from there. |

I disagree. 3.33 is a clusterfuck from beginning to end, and I don't see how the fourth movie can possibly salvage the movie series if it's the last one. |

By "next project" I hope they mean Eva, and not something else that has now distracted him. It's been 10 years already dude. I would love to see him work on something else, but he needs to prioritize this final movie for now. A lot of fans are out there waiting for a conclusion, myself included.
Was diebuster a flop? Or do you just hate it? I would have thought it'd be a pretty big seller. And personally, I thought it was quite good. |

It´s not Eva 4.0 mark my words. It has a chance of happening this decade... maybe but the last film more than proved that there is no passion or direction in the other end, while Shin Godzilla finally proved that he can go life action. I thus expect him to do another "real" film. Shin Godzilla further had an open ending.

Personally I very much enjoyed 3.0. I'd still like to hold out hope and believe that Anno already had Final planned out or else he wouldn't have gone on such a wild tangent with 3.0.
However, it was still a huge departure and it's only natural people reacted with "WTF was that?!" after the viewing - nothing was resolved; everything seemed a foreshadowing of what is to come in 4.0, if truly so. |

Did Anno start working on the 3.0+1.0 Evangelion movie BEFORE producing The Godzilla movie or did he start working on it AFTER the Godzilla movie? I would say that he already has worked a bit on it after 2013's Evangelion 3.0 movie, but that's just my guess. Do we have any official information? It is important to know if he already started working on the movie before the Godzilla movie, if we want to guess the 3.0+1.0 release date....

Well apparently Eva 4.0 is being delayed as long as possible so they can get as much money as possible from merchandise. Which is not bad since it funded the Japanese Animator Expo, but still the Movie should really be out before this decade ends.
If he's not working on that, a new original Anime would be great, hopfuly a really Ganxi-y one. Robots, Boobs, over the top fights. |

While this is true, Penguintruth has notoriously been stalking Eva threads for literally the last 5 years and taking every opportunity to comment some sort of insult toward fans or Anno because of his clearly deep-seeded hate toward it. Some of my first memories of being on this site before I even had an account were reading his sort of pathetic thoughts of the movie. Not that disliking it is bad, but there is probably a point where you should let it go. It's just a movie. Anyway, at this point, I am convinced that his true goal is to increase interest in the films, and that he is actually a secret agent working with Khara directly. There is no way any normal person could keep up this level of hate for so long without some compensation. At the very least, I do openly chuckle every time I see an Eva thread with the obligatory Penguintruth comment these days. |
