I love this show! It's gleefully stupid and silly, but it's so fun! I'm gonna either buy the DVD when I have enough to justify buying it, or maybe ask for it as a birthday present.

very fun show, I love to rewatch episode 01, or at least the first 5 minutes of it, because of the way they did the intro. it feels like something an amazing show would do, and obviosuly the rest of the show can't keep up with those few moments.

I was pleasantly surprised when this did well enough to get not only a series of shorts, but also a second season. I watched the first season again to listen to the dubbed songs, and it's pretty clear everyone working on it had fun.

It's a cute series overall and the dub is SUPER fun to watch. Shingancrimsonz in particular I absolutely adore in the dub. I never knew Mike McFarland could sing.
The real thing that ruins this series for me is the plot. It attempts to have this big overarching story about saving the world, but I don't think it needed that all. The series was at it's best when it was just the cast being quirky.
Doesn't help that it tries to throw in all these plotlines, builds them up, and the leaves very little pay off. Or ignores them all together until they're needed. And I thought it was entirely unnecessary to make Cyan come from our world- it just makes things more complicated.
With that said, I'll take Season 1's plot over the mess that is Season 2....

SB69A is kind of a mess for me, and many other Show By Rock!! fans. I really feel a slice-of-life show would have been much more ideal for SB69. I will never be a fan of their decision to make Cyan a human who gets sucked into a game. There was no reason for this change other than to have an excuse for the "Cyan has to go back" drama. Why couldn't she have been a resident of the Sound Planet like normal and still have saved the world? Even then, SB69A did not need a saving the world plot. It's just... really different from the game, which is just short slice-of-life band interactions. They tried to give it a serious plot and it just resulted in a rushes mess IMO. This goes for both seasons. They're pretty equally "meh" for me.
And it doesn't help that because of the anime, the game now shoves the really popular bands down our throats more than they did before, especially Plasmagica and Shingan. Stop giving us a Shingan limited in every single purple Gacha, thanks. We need more Beans.
