This is just a random idea but do you think that an anime series off the legend of Zelda games would work? Confused

Sure, why wouldn't it? Nintendo has already done a cartoon series for it.

There was an old cartoon called Captain N and the game masters(American Made), and some times they had Link and Zelda in them.

I don't remember any Link or Zelda in [Captain N and the Game Masters]. I only remember Mega Man, Simon Belmont, Pit (Kid Iccaris), the Eggplant Wizard, King Hippo and Mother Brain. They ventured into Mega Man's world once, and Zebes from Metroid, and I remember an episode featuring Faxanadu (The world in a huge tree). But I don't remember any Hyrule or Link or Zelda.

Yeah, they used to show Zelda on Fridays on the Super Mario Brothers Super Show (with the LA actors portraying Mario and Luigi in their rundown basement apartment). It had Moblins, Sprite the Sprite, The triforce of Power and Wisdom, The Mastersword fired magic projectiles, and whenever Link "killed" an enemy they were transported back to this huge hour-glass thingie that Gannon had. I don't remember if it was good or not, honestly.

I remember the actual Zelda cartoon, but Link and Zelda were in Captain N too. Because I remember Mother Brain had Eggplant and King Hippo try to steal the triforce, plus I had downloaded that episode a long time ago.

I though it was funny how they made the character designs on Captain N, Mega man was a short fat man wearing green tights and a helmet, Simon Belmont looked like a pilot with a big chin, and they had a giant gameboy with a face on the screen. But I think the funniest character was Mother Brain, they gave her big lips.

Well, for now we've got the Zelda and Super Mario Bros. cartoons on DVD. I wonder if they're going to release any others.

A Zelda anime should be created by some high quallity anime studio and not just some half-good random studio..

Gonzo should do it imo..

I"m thinking a Lord of the Rings-esque Zelda production. Wink
now that would be interesting.

Yup..

In fact, the Zelda cartoon and the Super Mario 2 cartoon were from DiC's "Super Mario Bros Super Show", a syndicated show with a live-action portion (with Captain Lou as Mario and what-his-face as Luigi) as interstitial.

SMB was Monday through Thursday, and Zelda was Fridays (sponsored in part by Dominos!). That was out right around the time SMB2 was released for the NES in 1988.

When Captain N came on TV (September 1989) and ran for 34 episodes.. it ran on... ABC, was it? It was the same channel that ran the Karate Kid cartoon.

After that, my knowledge of the series breaks down, because for a while it runs in tandem with some other shows (SMB3 and SMW) before finally leaving the airwaves entirely.
