Heh, the talk about how a lot of these Animax dubs use only a handful of actors to cover every role reminded me of how obviously on-the-cheap the dub of Blood+ was. The main difference is that it was handled by a studio (Studiopolis) that has produced a number of very high-quality dubs and cast with a number of experienced industry veterans, but there was still a hilarious amount of actor re-use. I think poor Crispin Freeman wound up having to play four or five significant characters before all was said and done. |

I found the Ginban Kaleidoscope dub on Youtube, and it's actually really good. If more Animax dubs sound like that, I'd love to hear 'em. Especially Victorian Romance Emma. I just couldn't connect to an Edwardian London in Japanese.

Really? I thought it was done by a different studio since i just watched The Ocean Group dub of Cardfight Vanguard which is legally available to watch on Youtube and the voices don't sound the same when i watch it on Animax Asia. Then again, it's been a long time since i watched an episode of Cardfight Vanguard on Animax Asia, so i might not remember it well. |

There were some Vanguard series that Ocean Group didn't dub (yet?). Isn't it possible that Animax dubbed those series by themselves, while used Ocean dub for the rest that they dubbed?
OT: May I ask what Japanese Transformers series were released in US? |

From what I read on Wikipedia, Season 4 of Cardfight Vanguard, Legion Mate, was skipped over... |

Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory were all released on R1 DVD by Shout! Factory. According to Shout!, Hasbro specifically instructed them to not include the dubs from Omni Productions that were included on other releases of the series in the UK and Australia. |

Too much mumbling and not enough enunciation made it hard to understand what the characters were saying most of the time. They also got some of the names mixed up. Like calling Rubeus "Prince Diamond". |

Whoa...! Even the very-poorly-made English version of Revolutionary Girl Utena pales in comparison to this. |

Here's some clips of the Sailor Moon Malaysian dub.
Moon Crystal Power + Speech https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkXL1xLLXGE Guardian Conversation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nJtOE6TO5U I've heard a bit of Animax's Fate/Stay Night dub. They refer to the "Heroic Spirits" as "Epic Spirits"?! |

Both videos are blocked from American viewing. |

Animax Asia has been moving away from dubs, it seems like. They air fewer and fewer dubs each year and when they do, it's just a rerun of their older dubs and only of the long franchise (Fairy Tail, Yu Yu Hakusho). The last American dubs they licensed are the older Naruto and Cardfight!! Vanguard (IIRC it's Link Joker?)

While various Animax dubs are uncut and may carry a faithful script, the quality is really bad. Heck, some of the clips I've heard could make a 4kids dub seem great.

Not sure if this was Animax dubbed but I watched Midori Days/Midori No Hibi back in year 2006 and I liked it.

The English version of Midori Days was from Anime Works (Media Blasters). |

No I watched Midori Days in Animax the voices are cooler. Compared with this dub, this is not the same voices I heard before. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3dwsre Can someone clarify where this dub above comes from? |
