Oh God that song is terrible. I hadn't really thought about what they'd use instead of Butter-Fly, but ugh, they should have just remixed the original or something.

Good news about Joshua Seth though.

The problem with the theme to me is that it's mainly just the word Digimon on repeat and just when you think it's going to say something else it just repeats the word Digital instead.
WE GET IT WE'RE WATCHING DIGIMON! The full version of the original English theme didn't say it as much as it did here.
The actual melody of the new theme isn't bad it's just those "lyrics".
I didn't see them replacing the Japanese songs for this, if anything I thought the English theme would have just appeared as DVD/Bluray menu music.

My only worry really is the soundtrack. I mean, It's not a deal breaker, but this Digimon theme has some weird techno theme going on, while to original song was more upbeat and cheerful. I'm okay with the original anime's English ost, but for the movie's sake, if they had to redo the soundtrack for some confusing licensing issues, I'd just rather them go with something a little closer to the original.

That said, Joshua Seth coming back for Tai was awesome. After him saying he would do it, it would have been a real shame if they got someone else to voice him. Worries gone, I'm aboard the hype train.

I see the trend of ignoring the Kouji Wada songs and replacing them with crap will continue even in death Sad

I read this on Joshua's FB last night. With enough fan urging, it is still possible we could get the 8 original Digi-Destined dub cast for the remaining 5 films.

OK... this is embarrassing since I'm an adult now and should act like it especially at work...where it is so damn quiet, but.... I just screamed "YES" loud enough to arouse my boss. Wink

I'm not sure why you expected anything else. That's been the case for every dub for Digimon in America, including the current Xros Wars dub. Ever since the first English trailer it's been apparent this is not aimed at Digimon fans, but rather fans of the American dub/kids.

He posted on Jeff Nimoy's fb page that he would have love to been asked but wasnt asked. Probably because he doesnt live close by to get in contact easily.

yep Matt, Joe, and Kari VAs werent even ask to come back to reprise their roles. All three of them would have loved to have did it.

The news we've all been waiting for. I am going to watch this now. I haven't seen anything Digimon since Tamers, which I hasn't big on, and I never liked Adventure 2 as much as 1. This seems to be what I wanted back then.
