People still buying Death Note?!?! I have the manga too but I bought it YEARS ago. Not saying it's a bad thing but wow, never knew it was that popular!

I always think it's pretty cool seeing an older manga continue to sell well (Death Note and DBZ, though I guess the latter is being helped by the color editions; I wonder how the Super manga will sell).
Fortunately, I like most of the manga on the list. Naruto, One-Punch Man, Fairy Tail, One Piece, and Black Butler. But is Bleach really selling less than Butler now? |

I honestly thought fairy tail would be higher (at least top 3) considering Kodansha has caught up with the Japanese volumes and publish the newest ones like a month after there release on japan.

How funny, I just bought Death Note. And wow, Naruto has reached the top. I remember when One Piece was at the top a few years ago and now it's #5.

I think you are confused, this list is about US sales, One piece have never been at the top on the US, and most likely will never be, it never replicated the massive succes it had in Japan while naruto have been always a success outside there, in fact i am surprised beacuse according to this list, one piece is selling more than Fairy Tail, when i always thougt it was the other way around. |

Because they still enjoy reading the manga and it is all just a matter of personal preference. Fairy Tail is the only one on the list that I am still reading. I have tried Naruto, Dragon Ball, and One Piece but could not stay interested in any of them for very long. I enjoyed various versions of Sword Art Online a bit more, but still have not read any of it recently. |

Feels good to see Naruto at the top. Also feels good to see one piece below Naruto and all those other series, where it belongs.

Naruto is at the top because it ended (just before/during) spring. (can't remember exactly when the last volume came out) Either way, people are finishing their Naruto manga collection now that there is an actual end to it.

A consistent, well-written story with loads of lovable, and prominent characters all participating in some of Manga's best world-building, and character designs. filled with uniqueness and life belongs below a series that started as a Hunter x Hunter knockoff (but it has ninjas so it's original) that eventually became a homo-erotic fixation with an edgy, annoying emo, with a rushed plot, that shoved all those likable characters completely into obscurity, that also ruined it's fight pacing of "strategy wins battles" by turning every fight into a "who can make the biggest EXPLUSHUN!" fight A series that BETRAYS it's "throw destiny to the wayside" roots to turn into a "CHILD OF THUH PROPHECY" story that all got started by a final villain with the worst motivation ever (Rin didn't wanna f*ck me) that got shafted by a bigger bad who got shafted by an even BIGGER bad who was really just a random plot device introduced 3 chapters beforehand? with a completely rushed ending that's just kind of alright? Yeah, Great series. Well thought out, characters? pfft Cliches out the anus? Pfft Consistency? what's that. THIS is the better series. AMIRIGHT? Naruto started out OK, and went to absolute garbage. One Piece started out Ok, and kept getting better and better - Dressrosa included |

Naruto was always number 1 internationally I think even Oda said something about how good Naruto is doing outside of Japan in an interview with both Kishimoto & Oda... but One Piece is at top in Japan |
