Aw, man. I saw this article had 1 reply and bet myself it would be a post using the word "shit" to describe the current anime. Too easy.

I still think they should have adapted Lost Children arc, mainly because I wanted to see people's reaction to the "adult attack" scene...plus skipping material of a manga that has an extremely irregular schedule won't help to make it last longer...

The flashbacks so far, and post-credits in episode 3 were really well done. Hopefully they'll tone down on the CGI even though it's highly unlikely. Or just make it mesh better with the traditional animation.

No writing can save the feeling I had during watching the episode, the constant weird camera angles were so god terrible.
This anime is pure shit!
Defending it is like defending Ride to Hell.

I don't think it did any good to the anime, though. It made some plot points a bit more confusing (such as the Behelit) and left a huge unimpression both in visuals and characterizations for the Apostles, at least for me. It must have been pretty hard for Miura to retouch the story without making drastic changes and not inconvenience the animators, though.

So enjoyed the episode; as someone whose experience with the franchise is only with the anime adaptations, I felt that the episode was interesting and engaging. Also, the CG/2D mesh style used in the show is starting to grow on me

This was announced 2 weeks ago at the anime expo. Miura was credited the same way he was for ep.1, so he probably gave the outline and not the script. It was the most unwatchable one so far (2/10) after all and the Boar (now a PSX dog?) Apostle was the original villain from the Dreamcast game intermixed with the original PS2 scenario setting. He actually wrote those and it showed. 8 more weeks, urgh.

Yeah, still not to happy with this adaptation. But this is the first episode that animation didn't bug the crap out of me. Not to say it was good, it was just way more consistent. Even if that consistency was mediocre.

I wonder if the home release will animate nipples on Farnese. It's all I could focus on; how blatantly she was half nude without trying covering her up somehow (unlike episode 2), yet not caring enough to animate her anatomically correct.
I don't get this new series at all.

Probably a censorship thing. Once a character is "barbified" and have blank chest and groin, it more likely to be OK'd without adding light beans/smoke/darkening the portion of the screen. In contrast, some of the gorier parts in the show received the screen-darkening treatment.

I just happened to watch this episode on YouTube a few days ago and it's pretty much what I was expecting as far as the CG and animation looking very crude. There was one part where Farnese was running away and it just looked completely silly, probably because of the jerky animation. It looks like something I'd want to mock by re-enacting on camera for laughs. Don't even get me started on the boobs with no nipples, although I get that's their way of getting around censorship without having to cover her up in any sort of way. I get that they wanted to make an anime of Berserk again to create awareness and boost sales of the manga, but I still think this adaptation is and will be completely forgettable and pointless. I wish Miura would just focus on the manga instead, but I guess I don't have any right to complain since I've been reading the scans online for years now. In no way am I entitled to tell anyone what they should be doing, but my opinion still stands. Call me back in the next few decades when the manga is hopefully finished and they want to make a legitimate and faithful anime adaptation of the manga.

I knew there was a reason I liked the third episode so much, figures. The CGI isn't the best, but it's grungy style is certainly growing on me, and after watching Aijin and Knights of Sidonia fairly recently, I'm pretty desensitized to this type of animation. All in on Berserk.

dang i really wished the Lost Children arc was animated,it had some really good stuff. guts being completely ruthless even though he was dealing with a child apostle, Rosine's messed up sense of morality, heck her death was pretty traumatic compared to most of the selfish apostles. and last but not least i recall the skull knight took her behelit but i guess that can still happen to this apostle.

Decades? too small bud try centuries, im betting money that in 50 years from now we'll have some sort of life extension like Elysium or mind uploading like ghost in the shell and Miura just gonna keep going prolonging this.
dont get me long I love berserk fiercely but this has to have the Guinness world record for longest hiatus for manga.

I actually really like this adaptation, pretty much everything except the animation is on point.
That is a pretty big negative though, and the only thing that seems to matter to a lot of people. It does drag it down a lot so I hope the animation can be improved.
