What makes you say that?

Could be because DVD is a dying format. I for one blame the decline of physical media for animé in the UK on the fact people want it on DVD and not BR. |

Because when they tried with Knights of Sidonia and it sold badly in the UK on physical media so they said they have NO plans to do it again with other animes
well according to company's like Manga UK people don't want blu-rays because they are too expensive and before anyone says "make them cheaper" Manga UK said they are already selling them as low as they can because they have to recuperate all the costs of licencing the HD masters and authoring the discs which cost more than DVD |

Never understood that claim considering one of the factors I believe is the main reason DVD only seems popular is due to the sad fact the centre of people's entertainment is a console. |

Humbug I say! Blu-ray players are expensive, and external drives only work with commercial operating systems! |

£50 to £60(using argos pricing could be cheaper else where) isn't expensive considering most console games(something that people are willing to buy more of) sell for around that much even a year after release. The reason I blame console owners is case it seems every Animé event in the UK gets hijacked by Nintendo a company which later this year will be putting out a device that only has 30 games on it for twice the price as a raspberry pi. |

Well, they certainly had quite a presence at Hyper Japan this weekend! But nonetheless, I think the two markets are too distinct to start pointing fingers in such a fashion, despite their substantial intersection. |

That was Manga. No other distributor has any complaints about streaming hurting sales - Anime Limited and Funimation both actively stream titles themselves. Magi is also a ShoPro property so, assuming Kazé are still intending to release in the UK, it would most likely be them releasing it here as they did Magi. |

i never said it had anything to do with the streaming or if it hurt sales or not what i said was when Netflix got Manga UK to release Knights of Sidona it didn't sell well in the UK so they AS IN NETFLIX THEMSELVES said they no longer have any plans to release any Netfix original animes in the future and the Sinbad series is a Netflix original series also while Magi carries the Kaze label it was still MangaUK that released it for them over here you know like Anime LTD are releasing stuff under the funimation label for funi |

Netflix didn't "get" manga to do anything, they licensed Sidonia from King Records/Kodansha. In addition (as of April):
(multi-part reply to https://twitter.com/mattcgw/status/722160373919571970) Manga UK distribute for Kaze. Kaze license a show, produce it and package it in Europe then send it to Manga's warehouse. Manga are only responsible for promoting it and getting it to stores. It is not Manga's decision on whether a Kaze title gets released or not, or in what format. |

that isn't how it was explained to me, i was lead to believe that Netflix actually paid for the dubs and had full distribution control but if this is not case than it seems i was in error, thanks for clearing that up also on a second note if that's the case does that mean we MIGHT get DVD and blu-ray release of The Seven Deadly Sins? |
