August is the summer vacation month for Japanese schoolkids, right? They are likely trying to time it with that.

They'll probably be clamoring for other generations even more so than the western Pokémon fans. Particularly waiting for Greninja, I take it.

I just hope this doesn't lead to too many train accidents in the metropolitan Tokyo area. With all the stupid stories I've been hearing about Pokemon Go in the US right now, I hope it's not contagious in Japan.

Oh dear god, the gropers, voyeurs, and some of the most deranged in Japan will be all out using Pokemon Go to lure in their next victims.

I gotta say it's interesting to think that Pokémon GO hasn't gone live in Japan yet.
Also, can't wait to catch 'em in Japan when my family and I move there in spring.
Woot woot.

I find it very odd, and even more than a little suspicious that ANN would ignore a Forbes article on the very same subject (by Ollie Barder) before rolling out an almost word-for-word version of their own.
After all, news is only news when it is new..... A polite nod to the original author would have been, at the very least proper, civil and thoughtful.
T'is a shame.....

They saw how big it got in the US to a point that there are server issues getting overloaded.
They realize they're going to need a lot more server capacity than they originally planned for in Japan.

If they're not going to go over there, the knockoff pirates can take it for themselves.
