... This is the first I'm hearing of this Zegapain movie! Hopefully it'll give a little more clarity to those ending scenes.

I'm surprised that there's even a movie being made considering that Zegapain came out a decade ago!

What was confusing about it? she got pregnant. It was very obvious
As a huge mecha fan, I find this anime massively underrated. People overlook it because of the first few episodes being "Normal". To me, it was my first taste of Kana Hanazawa. That was when I went out of my way trying to get people to check her out, letting people know how amazing she was. So many people have found it years later and thanked me for recommending it to them. Animation hasn't aged well, so I'm glad it's getting a movie to hopefully capture new fans (if it's done right...26 episodes down to 1 movie seems kinda rough to do).

I loved Zegapain, a gem I was lucky to discover while perusing anime's to watch over a sumer, and I'm really happy it's getting a sort of revival with this compilation movie. I'm definitely eager to see what the new content is like .
It's interesting listening to this trailer and hearing Kana Hanazawa's original performance as Kaminagi again. Compared to her later roles and performances, it still sounds a lot more raw and unrefined, while still being just as strong as you'd expect from her. Zegapain was one of her first voice acting roles, right?
It's likely going to be a stark contrast going from her performance in the original to how she'll sound in the movie.

I really liked Zepagain, but I've never liked compilation movies. They just reek of trying to take advantage of the fans. You can't possibly have a few movies (let alone one) cover the same material that a TV show did and do it justice. So, you get a very much inferior product that has a few, new (probably short) scenes thrown in so that there's new material to entice you, and occasionally, they'll clean up some aspect of the story in the process, but you still end up with something worse overall. So, they're usually a waste of time, but you sometimes give in anyway just for those new scenes since you liked the original so much. IMHO, it's a a scam, and I wish that they'd stop doing them. But obviously, enough of us are gullible enough to go to the theater to see them or buy them on home video that they think that it's worth it to continue to make them...
