Why would anyone even get this? It's gonna drain the hell outta your phone's battery, It's probably not gonna cost much less than picking up a gbc at your local gameshop, and it doesn't seem to take up that much less pocket space. Seriously, what's the point of this?

Convenience, most casual gamers don't want to carry 2 devices especially one that doesn't make phone calls and a cell is multifunctional

??
Its still 2 devices, a phone and a smartboy. And again, it looks as though it takes up about the same amount of space as just having a gb or gbc. I really don't see how this is convenient in any way.

Having a smartphone double as a Game Boy may offer convenience, but all that will be for naught when one finds out that the battery has been exhausted after only a few hours of use...

I can already play Game Boy games on my smartphone without the need for a "smart boy" so I really don't see why anyone who already knows how to download Game Boy games on their smartphone would have any use for this.

I never played a Gameboy or NES game on my phone but I though a common complaint about doing so was touch screen buttons?

You still end up bring Smart Boy outside so you carry 2 devices there.

That's fair but you know what has buttons and costs less than the smartboy? An actual ganeboy.

I'd buy the Supaboy S but only after retro gaming Youtubers review it, I want to see how the compatibility is.

Yep. Hyperkin will get sued and shuttered because the smart boy is a cheap imitation of the Game Boy except it's a cover for Android devices. The design does infringe Nintendo's patent and trademark.

imo, the advantage is the smartphone's rechargeable battery.
I recently started playing my old GBC i bought back in 2000 or so again and I have no idea how I was able to stand needing to constantly put batteries in the thing. Even if you were playing this smartboy thing with the charger plugged into a wall, at least you werent going through multipacks of batteries a month
I'm not saying that alone makes this desirable or anything, it was just the first thing I thought of. But a 3DS also charges like a smartphone so the only other advantage this would have over just buying the games on the 3DS virtual console would be if you didn't want to have to buy them again and still had the original carts. ....even though you'd need to spend money on this device anyway... so uh yeah, screw it. If you still had your old Pokemon gameboy games and desperately wanted to revisit your old team rather than rebuy the digital game it'd be cheaper to just by another gameboy.

But there are already systems that allow you to play gameboy games without switching batteries, most notably the gba sp and the original ds. Both of which are cheaper than this in my area by the way.

This. I've already been playing GBC/SNES games on my phone for a long time now. Don't really see the point of this device...
