Wow, talk about timing! Now let's see if the updated PS 4 is ready for the challenge!
That being said, 4K is a bit overkill for me, so the only good news for me is probably the price of "original" PS4/Xbox one will lower their price...hopefully! |

Like the PS4 Neo, XB1 Slim 4K is only for video, not gaming. The 4K gaming won't come until the much more powerful Scorpio.
But the big thing with this new smaller size is actually the power brick - it's no more finally. Now it's integrated inside. The XB1's large size is due to Microsoft being overly cautious not to repeat the RROD overheating fiasco with the original X360 (bad PR and cost them more than $1 Billion to fix), so they made sure the XB1 runs more than cool enough by putting a giant fan and plenty of space for airflow. (In fact, the XB1 runs cooler and quieter than the smaller but more powerful PS4 with its smaller fans, so it's a trade-off between space size and heat/noise.) Seems now that the XB1 has proven to not have heating issues, they feel confident enough to significantly reduce its size and putting the power supply inside. Also, seems the new XB1S controllers and peripherals can also use Bluetooth, so can maybe pair up our Bluetooth keyboards and mouse with it.
Eh, it's not as much an issue so long as external USB hard drives can be used. |

500GB and 1TB for PS4 $300 for Xbox One S + 2TB option will push Sony to do the same (soon or later) since with the current trend of dumping the entire game on the HDD even when you have the physical disc -- 2TB should be the new standard--especially if they are going 4K Microsoft is really going all out with their slim and scorpio. i guess they want regain lost ground with the mid cycle refresh Last edited by AnimeAddict2014 on Tue Jun 14, 2016 11:28 am; edited 1 time in total |
