Kodomo no Jikan is a decent story for a while (if constant loli fanservice doesn't keep you away) but it really goes off the rails considerably before the end.

Oh very nice, this is gonna be the first kickstarter I back since they ship worldwide and this series is phenomenal from start to finish, in my top 5.

Now if only they could do this for any Ryuta Amazume series in the future. Any.

Project-H already mentioned the possibility of a release on twitter about two months ago. Good to know they were serious and that it might actually happen.

Probably one of the biggest and best announcements I've ever seen and am sooooo happy. After the Seven Seas situation I had given up all hope on this ever getting an english release but there it is and I am one very happy girl! Thank you so much Project H! Now if only a company would pick up the anime. With Media Blasters releasing Yosuga no Sora them picking this up wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility Anime smile

Those streach goals are wonderful too, I shall dream it reaches that hardcover/dust jacket stretch goal <3

That's a good choice to begin with. Best of luck to them Smile

I thought that what happened (really shameful, IMO, to see people boycotting a release the way it was done with the backing of the "big anime sites" back then - even if I personally think the manga is pure garbage, all that outcry shouldn't have happened at all) pretty much blocked any possible release overseas. This is somewhat surprising, assuming it doesn't get caught in the controversy again.

Better yet, would anyone please license that visual novel? Even better, include Haruka no Sora while at it...

good lord looking at some of the rewards being offered for this makes me feel ill

good job at simultaneously insisting this isn't pedobait while offering rewards that blatantly sexualize an underage prepubescent character. body pillows. good christ.

i'm really shocked this is happening at all, considering the backlash but my skin is still crawling.

Then just ignore its existence and move along?

But I'll say no more. The whole Loli = Pedo thing has been fought ad nausium and is just as annoying as the dub vs sub arguments.

From what I know of this series, I'd say this line is the most important in the whole KS description of the series:
Quote:
Best to be read with an open-mind.

Laughing

While I don't know heaps about the series, apart from there being an elementary age school girl hitting on her teacher, I think I remember reading that the series also ages the girls? Do they look the same the whole way through, because the KS makes me think they don't physically age:
Quote:
Watashiya is truly awesome when it comes to female character creation, as they embody independence, intelligence, and equality, regardless of age and appearance.

Also, I'm working off the assumption that ecchi situations in the series aren't exclusively things that happen once the character's come of age, but they happen throughout the series. Am I correct?

Last note...seeing that hardcover format is a stretch goal for this makes me sad...as that wasn't offered for the Kimagure Orange Road KS. At least, I was unaware of it if it was offered for KOR...

Clearly not for me, for all the loli content. But just because of all the outcry and support for censorship, I hope it reaches its max target and is successful. So people just shut. I already have to put up with homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, sexist and puritan idiocy all the time. We don't have to put up with the PC crazies either.

Good luck with the fundraiser. Hope far more manga and anime, and VN and LN are brought over.

If this was Ro-Kyu-Bu, I'd be pledging, why Pecchi didn't go for that which is more feel goody, although with more fanservice instead of this (it sickens even lolicons) is beyond me.

They cannot be serious about this.

From the text of the campaign itself, it's clear that they are fully aware of both the trouble that Seven Seas had with this title back in 2007 as well as the obvious accusations of child porn that come with this series. The fact that they wave it off with "oh, just keep an open mind" is both infuriatingly glib and fatally naïve. That's not even addressing the ridiculous goal, which could only be justified by budgeting for the legal fees from potential lawsuits.

There is no way that DMP isn't going to get some serious criticism for this. The moment this hits any sort of mainstream media (or even just social media at large, not just the anime- and manga-focused parts of it), it's going to turn into a massive scandal. This is going to make the Tezuka World debacle look like a walk in the park. Even Kickstarter itself may get some negative press out of this for enabling them. I could very easily see this getting pulled for offensive content.

I've contributed to DMP Kickstarters in the past - the Sakira and KOR ones, specifically. After this little stunt, I'm thoroughly done with them. I'm never touching a campaign of theirs again and I refuse to defend them after this point, and I know I am far from the only person to feel this way.

I feel for the moderators. I remember the storm that occurred the last time this was attempting to be released.

I do wish them luck on their campaign. I know there were many people looking forward to an English release of this series.
