I really figured ERASED would get dubbed, AoA has been pretty consistent with dubbing its shows since Madoka Magica at least (maybe earlier excluding The Garden of Sinners) sill wondering who the dubbing house will be seeing as Funimation also seemed to have the license or maybe streaming rights or something. Kind of hoping for Bang Zoom on this one, nothing against Funi but I'm really hoping for Christine Cabanos for Kayo and Marianne Miller for Satoru. Still the price tags are going to hurt my wallet.

I shouldn't be surprised about Erased getting an English dub, but for some reason, I am.

Has AoA ever used anything but LA based talent for any of their dubs? And you mentioned Christine Cabanos aka my favorite VA <3 I officially love you haha |

Haha I love Christine Cabanos she's terrific! AoA so far has stuck pretty solid with Bang Zoom and other California talent but there's always a first I suppose. |

Funi only has streaming rights. they will most likely be able to stream the dub on their site as well, but that's their only involvement with Erased

Sadly no, which sucks because both New York & Canada could use some more dub work. Heck, why they (& Viz as of late) haven't hired NYAV for some dubs I'll never understand. |

Charlotte didn't do TOO bad. The streaming was pretty good AFAIK, and it topped the home media charts for quite some time (even if it sold only 7000 copies in its first week, but that's because of the streaming). Samurai Flamenco (not Flamingo) is basically My Hero Academia, except the protagonist is more Ichigo-like and he doesn't initially get superpowers but relies on friendship. The series (particularly the latter episodes) was widely praised, and like most AoA dubs it can be found on Netflix, so I have no idea why they never went through with it. Also they should've done Plastic Memories and Irregular at Magic High School... |

Regarding Charlotte, unless Aniplex USA has confirmed something, some people are assuming that its disc release will be sub-only. But because Charlotte was made by some of the people behind the fan favorite Angel Beats!, there is a good chance that Charlotte is getting a dub.
There is nothing to wonder. Like getchman said, Funimation only has streaming rights. Aniplex has also sold Funimation streaming rights for other shows like Durarara!! and The Asterisk War, but Aniplex controls everything from release format to dubbing. |

Well, I am. I quite like Asumiko Nakamura's work so I thought it was neat Doukyusei was animated. The story was good enough for me follow the comic's sequels too. I've also heard nothing but lovely things about the film. So yeah I want it. My wallet might shed some tears over it but, I'm more sad I didn't have the opportunity to see it in theaters. |

Pricing is a issue...surprise!
Anyway, I hope someone in Australia licenses ERASED for disc release. I think Madman has the license for streaming (unsure sometimes with Animelab, as not all the shows there are from Madman). I'd much rather give my money to a licensor here, if the price will be on the high end, over AoA. Much like I do when I buy Hanabee's releases of the Monogatari series. Even though, I can wait for sales at places like JB Hi-Fi, where I bought Hana and Tsuki for $68AUD...as JB had a buy-1-get-1-free Blu-Ray sale recently. Yes, unlike with AoA, you can find Aniplex anime released in Australia on sale. Just looking at the SE for the first BD volume of SAO, Rightstuf has it discounted from $74.98USD to $59.98USD. Madman has it on sale for $29.95AUD, as they're doing a $5 off sale at the moment. I'm happy that, in most instances, I don't need to import Aniplex titles. Sadly, this does not apply to Wagnaria, which will be the first (and hopefully only) AoA title I'll be importing. Though, not through Rightstuf. Hadn't realised that the standard for AoA releases is that they're restricted to the Americas and Canada. I wonder if RACS are any good. More expensive there, but I've never bought from them either. May have to use eBay... |

I feel like we should pull up quotes (those complaining and those defending) from the past 5 years of AoA-bitching threads and putting them in the first post just so the cheap anime crusaders ("Anime is a right, not a privilege!") don't have to keep repeating themselves, and each Aniplex thread doesn't look exactly the same as all of the other ones. And for those of you that consider supporting Aniplex worse than piracy (I've seen this attitude in past threads, and it's about to get in this one), grow up, and stop feeling so entitled (I also recommend the following). Your attitude is quite frankly disgusting. You don't have to like their prices, I repeat you don't have to like their prices, but you shouldn't go around practically considering those that support them as criminals.
Also there's far bigger issues with Aniplex USA than prices. For example, translations, something they fucked up with Erased. Some examples below (no spoilers). http://i.imgur.com/Qdt4Uxh.png (this was in episode 1...) https://twitter.com/Xythar/status/690795020375339008 https://twitter.com/herkzzz/status/708511097288929280 https://twitter.com/herkzzz/status/708511324901249024 https://twitter.com/herkzzz/status/708511384493887488 Their translations in general are considered the worst by fansubbers. Some more examples. https://twitter.com/Xythar/status/729007409402777601 https://twitter.com/Xythar/status/731573933384687616 https://twitter.com/herkzzz/status/718861523586781185 http://ask.fm/Xythar/answers/137581527416 (This is how you say "Singapore" in Aniplex) http://pastebin.com/h11nt5ri And here's spoiler moments for the final couple of episodes of Erased they messed up the translations on, they didn't even look at the video in one example. https://twitter.com/Xythar/status/711016379151847424 https://twitter.com/Xythar/status/711017609827758080 https://twitter.com/Xythar/status/708485947386568704 (they later kept flip-flopping on this one)
http://www.fandompost.com/oldforums/showthread.php?51858-Boku-dake-ga-Inai-Machi&p=350910&viewfull=1#post350910 Wonder what AoA will cut from the Japanese release like usual. The interviews from the booklet will most likely be missing like usual.

Actually, Aniplex USA pays their employees quite well. I'd also argue "race to the bottom" pricing has hurt employee pay, especially with FUNimation, who according to multiple sources, pays below industry standards. So one could argue the price for cheap anime is bad wages for anime professionals. |

Oh yeah I know very well not to get my hopes up with AoA packaging. Though the Jpn LE in that twitter link is really nice shame AoA's release wont ever compare. Would have killed for an art book or something with the YLiA release =/ |

Also, I happen to work a minimum-wage part-time job, I make $9 an hour (soon $9.50 when minimum-wage in my state rises again in August) at a movie theater. And the wage issue is a tough one, what about the smaller businesses? It's not just big corporations out there. |
