Brittney Karbowski as Vivian works for me. I was going to suggest casting Jessica Boone for Ange, but from the clip, Sentai chose someone else. Did any of you recognize who is voicing Ange from the clip?
Are you blind buying Cross Ange? If so, you might want to watch 3-4 episodes to get an idea what this controversial show is about. |

Yeah, definitely don't go into this series blind lol. Vivian's voice is deeper than expected, but she still sounds pretty perky.

Thanks for the reply and concern! I'm probably unique as an anime fan, I literally enjoy pretty much everything and I honestly can't think of a single anime I've seen that I have regretted watching or outright disliked. Thanks to that I blind buy 99.9% of everything I watch because its pretty much impossible for me to dislike any anime especially when there's a dub. I'm a huge collector and not really fond of streaming so any chance I get to increase my physical media collection and support dubs (if they are included) is something I'm glad to do. From what little I know about this show the art style, fanservice it seems like, and there being a dub pretty much guarantees that I wont dislike it. While I don't know exactly what the controversial content is I have read from other posters on ANN (if my memory is correct  ) that it has something to do with implied rape I think? Not much (in anime) really offends me but as a woman I can understand how other women (guys too) might get uncomfortable with such themes so I thank you for the heads up regardless

I would actually recommend Cross Ange for a blind buy. It's one of the most entertaining shows in the past years, and all the "controversy" is people being really thin skinned and getting offended/triggered by everything.

Is this one of those all chicks shows or is there a main male lead also. And second for anyone thats seen this, is there romance?

Most of the cast is women, but there are 2 prominent male characters. And yes, there are elements you could consider romance. And have in mind that this is not a show for the faint of heart. |

This show has only like 2 male main characters. The reason why the main cast is almost exclusively female is explained though and it is much closer to a shonen than a shojo anime in spite of having an overwhelmingly female cast. Also there is a male lead and there is romance spoiler[especially near the end]
*spoiler tags from now on may contain large plot/world spoilers I personally enjoyed Cross Ange but I can see how the beginning quarter of the show can put of some viewers. In my opinion it was pretty good: it had a story, told it, and wrapped it up (better than some other shows can say). It also isn't that hard to follow. I did almost drop the show near the beginning due to spoiler[Angelise/Ange being a complete ass to the rest of the cast] but I hung in there and finished it. That being said it did leave me a little disappointed in some regards. spoiler[Like Mana being genetic manipulation when I personally thought nano-machines would have been a better explaination and that the dragons are originally humans who just want "mommy" back] |

Almost completely female cast with 3 exceptions: 1. The mid-boss is male. He's present for about half the series. 2. The love interest in male. He's present since, I think episode 7 all the way to the end. There is romance, and he's awesome. The relationship develops.Might be a ninja. 3. The main antagonist is male. He's a total douche, but a suave douche. Appears around episode 6 all the way to the end. He's memorable, I'll give him that. |

Part of me wants to buy this since I enjoyed it streaming. However, I've seen the barbie doll bodies they have behind the steam and stuff in the 'uncensored' blurays, and that really annoys me. Can I get the steam clouds back?
I mean as long as they're into mechs and have a good sense of humor, I would recommend it for a blind buy too |

This sounds good, though of course a little different than what I thought it'd sound like. Definitely looking forward to going through this again in English. I'm pretty curious on how the dragon-world scenes will sound like.
I completely agree. This was a wonderful anime with proper progression and a complete conclusion. Buying it will bring immense satisfaction to most people who complete it! |

Knowing how controversial Cross Ange is, I'm bound to be in for a surprise somewhere within the show. I await the watching of this show.

I don't know... you might finish it wondering what the big deal was. If I didn't see the people flipping out over it big time as it was airing, I'd probably have a hard time believing it could be that controversial. |
