Previous Adaptation: Age 12 (OAV) This Adaptation: Season 1 (1st half) - Age 12 (TV) Season 1 (2nd half) Age 12 (TV 2) Source: Manga (completed @ 20 volumes, by Nao Maita) Demographic: Shoujo Animation Studio: OLM Genres: drama, romance, slice of life Themes: coming-of-age, school Plot Summary: Hanabi is a sixth-grade girl who is neither an adult nor a child. She deals with issues such as accidentally witnessing her homeroom teacher kissing, and worrying about experiencing physiological changes before her friends. Air Date & Platform: April 4, 2016 (Monday) Available on: Duration: 24 episodes ---------------------------------- Episode 1 Looks like this show will have two female main characters instead of one. Either way, first episode plays out like a standard romcom, but the execution is quite good. Hanabi is sometimes insecure, but still finds the courage to speak her mind when needed. Cute how her coolness actually makes her win points from her guy. Also - WHAT? - spoiler[a kiss in the] very first episode ? They're 12 year old! Kuronuma Sawako would've fainted by now . Twice. The kawaii bully girl was quite believable too. Only real bad thing is that the unlikable guys get the ugliest faces. That's kinda unfair. Show won't score points in animation quality either. The designs (aside from some ugly guy faces) are cute though. Especially the clothes. I wasn't nearly that fashionable at that age. |

Why aren't more people watching this!?
Lol that's just the "Beauty is Good" trope. |

I don´t know Chiibi, but I'm glad you decided to give this thread and anime some love. I thought I was alone in liking this .
It is pretty standard shoujo stuff, I guess the average ANN audience must like different types of shows. |

It doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Is it streaming somewhere under a different name?

*awkward side-glance*....heh, I um.....don't like live-streaming. It lags too much for me.
I get the fansubs.
Are you kidding...every time I so much as see the word "shoujo", I immediately pounce on it. |

I used to have that problem but I got a new (faster) service provider and the problem went away. Of course that may not be an option for you. Fansubs are simply not an option for me. If it had shown on Cruncyroll or Funimation I would have tried it. |

I just have not been commenting on it since no one else has.
I was particularly interested earlier on when it was talking about puberty like girls having their period, you really don't see that come up often. The only examples I can think of is where Seitokai Yakuindomo having the guts to mention something about it which often is a gag just for shock, and I think an OVA of Kodomo no Jikan also mentioned it along with earlier topics of stress of an early bloomer. If puberty is a big deal I do think it has to be talked about, and some of the scenes like the pharmacy scene were cute and funny. |

Watch Naisho no Tsubomi. It deals with many of the same things. |

The eyes remind me so much of Fruits Basket.....
http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/fruitsbasket/images/2/2d/Fruits_basket.png/revision/latest?cb=20100614150552 The below is an experiment..... (Sorry if the image just stretches the hell out. @nobahn
On my display the image is almost too small to see. The full length is about two inches of screen space. I know who the characters are because I'm familiar with the series. However, I certainly can't see their eyes well enough to make a comparison. It looks the same in both versions in your post in the "bugs" forum. |

That works. I wonder why you saw them as spread across the screen while I saw a sub thumbnail picture?

The character design is so very much like the typical Ribon author character design....heck, the manga is probably a Ribon manga.
[edit] Oh, it's a Ciao manga. Lol close enough. I can't unsee Sana Kurata when I look at Hanabi. lol The only difference is Sana's eyes are more of a goldish color....and maybe a very slightly different style. Aside from this, they're twins in appearance. I like how Hanabi's hair decs change from scene to scene. Sometimes they're baubles, sometimes they're bows and in the last scene this ep, they were little music notes. |

Alan--
I think that that the website in question has a thing against deep linking. |
