Bunch of miserable fun police. If they think this is bad, they should see the awful sexualized fanart/doujinshi for magical girl manga. They can't regulate fanart, if you don't like it, don't go looking for it.

Sounds like that second guy is saying almost the exact opposite of their first statement.
"So, you're going to crack down on the fanart?" "Yes." "Wait, no, nevermind, we're grateful that it exists and that people are recognizing her appeal." lol, okay, so I guess they are totally okay with it. |

I do understand from where he's coming from. Seeing your creation being rule 34'd is something that most people wouldn't want to see.
On a side note, I kept reading ponytails instead of portrayal, so I was having a hard time understanding the title. |

Yeah good luck with that. Anime fanbase is full of some of the most loudmouth not-so-nice-people out there that are going to do whatever the fudge they want. You can ask as nicely and politely as you want to not do certain things with your IP designed primarily to be a family friendly mascot for school textbooks and they'll just flip their shit and probably do it even more just to spite you. Zero respect for anybody or anything.

It's an entirely reasonable set of concerns, it's just too bad that it's running afoul of the anime fanbase who literally do not give a damn about what they want and what they want now. I've seen this happen with Aikatsu before where the series director had no choice but to ban people that posted erotic fan art of the show from his twitter account as about the only measure he could take to try to keep it clean and family friendly as intended. I don't think it's going to be too huge an issue in the long run though unless middle school students end up on pixiv in which case it's already too little too late for them. I don't know what the fuss is, she looks pretty typical for a manga character, the only uncommon difference being her hairstyle and clothing. If she were um... without them, I couldn't pick her apart from other doujinshi depicting green-eyed blondes.
