According to one of the previous articles about the new D.Gray-man series, this will be a continuation. animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2015-12-23/katsura-hoshino-new-d.gray-man-anime-story-is-continuation/.96772 |

Will there be less filler in this one?

There's definitely enough material for a 26-episode series, without the current arc, which I doubt they even consider to adapt it to anime at this stage. The thing is all I see from PV and CV indicates to Alma&Kanda arc mainly, but many things happened before that, putting aside the miscellaneous chapters and mini-arcs, there was another big arc too. Since there's nothing about it I wonder what they're going to do! |

Yeesh, thats some unimpressive animation. There doesnt seem to be any improvement from how it looked nearly 10 years ago.
Back then I was hugely into DGM and it was one of my fave manga but then I just abruptly stopped reading it around volume 22 or so 4 years or so back and never really started again. I kind of want to get back into it and just see what's happening - I think I mainly quit because it was introducing way too many characters and none of them interested me. That said, this trailer sure made me feel nostalgic. It was like I was suddenly a new university student all over again. Was that really nearly ten years ago...? |

Michiko Yokote? Of Ballad of Fallen Angels, Princess Tutu and Shirobako?
After changing all of the cast, finally some not just good, but great news. Now she only has to write the whole spoiler[Kanda] flashback and final confrontation with spoiler[Alma] and I'm back at looking forward to this. |

There's no way there's not an improvement. I'm watching the first series at the moment. I don't know what the animation looks like at the end, but I'm at episode 17 now. This pv looks a lot better than what I'm seeing, so I'm excited to see the improved animation. |

The first year of D.Gray-man was absolutely horrid because of its dreadfulness, I barely survived. It has turned out that it was a filler year.
The second year was epic, one of the best anime series I watched ever (while I am far behind true anime fans, I still managed to watch nearly six hundred titles since 2007). This new project will not be a year, though. Due to prolonged hiatuses author only managed to make material for a couple of seasons: summer and autumn, id est 26 episodes. New actor cast is probably due to some hard schedule conflict of one of the key actors that made the first series. For this reason, producers had to drop all of the cast altogether. |

I lost interest in the manga about 30 or so chapters after the anime but I usually like anime more so I'll definitely watch this if it goes into that territory. Most of my weekly shonen is coming to an end. If this is going to be one of those 100+ episode series that runs forever like clockwork, sign me up.
