Tanks drift on concrete too, no need for ice... Certainly not to the extent in GuP , but they do. Plenty of videos on Youtube.

I guess they decided to demonstrate it on snow since its easier on the treads then on concrete

Perhaps the GuP gang should host a tank-drifting racing tournament. Wink

Yeah, I remember seeing tank drift videos immediately after the last episode of GUP, dispelling any disbelievers.

I preferred the train drifting videos personally. Hard to beat some good Eurobeat though.

They do it all the time, anywhere. Usually when do (not so) pivot turn after flank speed.

Don't wanna be the person to scrub rubber sticking on the pavement tho..

Tanks certainly won't win any land speed records but they "can" drift so it's all good not to mention they can still blow stuff up. Cool

The U.S. Marines seem to have confirmed this question. The video below was taken on winter exercises in Norway, and shows M1-A1 Abrams and Leopard 2A4 tanks taking a corner in a way that looks suspiciously like drifting. Apparently snowy conditions make the tank treads hard to control even for Marines familiar with driving tanks.

Bad video to show the example, that tank can barely drift with that speed...

This one is better

Sure, sure, but most of the movie was still physics-mocking nonsense.

And what anime (hell, even what hollywood movie) doesn't defy physics?
