Ah, The Anime Network. Almost forgot that was a channel. Haven't watched it in a while. A lot of anime great anime used to pop up a that channel, but now anything there is just....eh.

What I don't get is what happened to say, Princess Tutu on Hulu? All of a sudden that show was recently removed entirely. |

I always assumed that when great shows get removed from streaming (Tutu, Anohana, Clannad, etc.) it's to get the DVD sales to rise again. |

Crunchyroll should just buy all of these smaller anime providers up to get more titles in one place. Makes it easier, really.

More likely it is because the contract for streaming has ran out and they have to renegotiate a new contract. |

TAN hasn't had a 24/7 linear channel since 2008. They've just operated as a Video-On-Demand and streaming service since. I think they still have most of the same titles though. A large portion of ADV's back catalog plus pretty much everything from Sentai. |

Plus they drastically improved their website. First the forums, then everything else. Especially the video player. My 5mbps internet can finally work for the site without buffering even in heavy traffic with multiple devices on in-house. So its less than halfway there in being as awesome as crunchyroll's. Im even fine with them doing simulcasts now compared to their dark age with tamako market. My only issue is there is too much negative space in the design of the site. |

No big-name titles but a few that I'm happy to see get more circulation.
Daphne in the Brilliant Blue is one of those dumb, goofy titles where if you put up with all its crap you'll be rewarded with a surprisingly strong story in its last third or so. Shigofumi is practically a documentary on people being complete bastards, but also has numerous strong story elements and social commentary. It was a strong B+ title for me. Uta~Kata is a well-done precursor to the trend of darker magical girl series formally ushered in by Madoka Magica. It's another series where if you at least tolerate it in the beginning it will pay off big in the end. Blue Drop is a pretty solid yuri series (and I'm looking forward to finally hearing the dub for it), and Tears to Tiara is both a personal favorite and one of my most frequently-rewatched titles. And I guess I'll finally get around to seeing Indian Summer, which has long been on my radar but I never pulled the trigger on. |

I was in the same position as animechic: "What, is that thing still around? Thought it was cable-on-demand, and nobody does that now!" I remember the old 90's-00's Anime Network was ADV, so makes sense that they're a Sentai channel, but didn't know where to find any of the streams since I'd pretty much gotten everything non-Crunchyroll from Hulu. I agree that a merger with at least one of the channels (Viz's Neon Alley also springs to mind) would be very useful in making CR the "main" site for anime streaming, now that CR is allying itself more and more with Nozomi and Discotek, the only labels that don't have their own streaming service--Except that CR being the only channel NOT owned by a major label trying to promote themselves, means the big channels might have to eat a lot of loss before even considering the idea of playing nicely with others. |

I enjoy be reminded every few years that I pre-ordered the blu-ray of Ghost Hound, and yet, I still haven't watched it.

I really liked Ghost Hound one of the only animes to actually scare me like a horror movie would. My issue was the second half didn't quite carry that over, but overall a really great show.
