Err...only the top image is new. The second one's been up on the teaser site for at least week

At this point I'd prefer a tv series instead of another movie series. Any Berserk movie will cut out a ton of content by nature of a movie's running time. I haven't seen the Berserk tv series from the 90s but it seems like a 24-26 episode series has a better chance of being faithful to the manga than a movie. Also, cgi is going to be a necessary evil at this point. Even if this new adaptation has a huge budget (it probably won't), there's no way you can avoid using cgi, it'll show up

Both images are 3D CG. If anything that's a really bad sign.

The point isn't the presence of any cgi at all, the point is shows made entirely using 3D CG. Those are luckily still in the minority. But it appears this production will be all 3D CG like the movies. That's worth being disappointed about.

So I imagine Miura is putting the manga on hiatus so he can focus on helping with the anime?

are you actually telling me that those 2 images are completely cgi? that's bull. the one with him sitting down fair enough does have a lot of cgi but is not completely cgi. That image looks similar to what they did in movie 3 where they did the faces in 2d and the armour and stuff in 3d. that I admit worked.... for the most part

I kinda agree MAPPA is a good choice of a studio, since they're actually bringing up CG animation to the better levels. But I hope it could be MADHOUSE or BONES since they're the more stable for mainstream titles such as this. I.G looks feasible as well, just no A-1, the studio can't handle dark titles fluidly aside from a very few special mentions.

Here's hoping for Production I.G. They're the only studio I trust to deliver good quality CGI.

My point is that no matter how good the CG looks there are still plenty of people who do not like any cgi at all, unrealistic as that is nowadays. I thought Knights of Sidonia anime had good CG but plenty of people passed on it because it was all cgi regardless if the cgi was good or bad. Also, the Berserk movies were not entirely in cgi. Most of the dialogue heavy and non-action scenes are 2D. I also think it's a little early to say this new adaptation will be all CG based on just two teaser images. Unless they announce otherwise, nobody knows at this point.

If he is, then there's hope for this, lol. It sounds like he had little or no involvement with the movies.

Clearly, it's not obvious. It's actually extremely common for CG anime to use hand drawn or 2D key visuals. Knights of Sidonia has a lot of hand drawn key visuals, as does pretty much every other CG work that I'm aware of. So if that was where you were going with that, than you're wrong. That doesn't prove anything.

Miura should end this manga one time for all, the last chapters aren't so good, seems the author don't have idea how to continue the story and go in hiatus very ofthen.
