Well that is pretty freaking huge. Probably the biggest move to close out the year. They pointed out "console exclusive" so I imagine like a lot of third party stuff with Sony, it will be on PC as well.

And so the story has finally reached its logical conclusion. A man who has been in the spotlight for being shunned by a giant corporation finally managed to break free, start his own studio, has sided with another giant corporation. You can almost feel the goodwill Sony has produced with this strategy.

Darn it. I was sure expecting Nintendo or Microsoft considering his past history with them and how his games had an impact on their consoles. Who would have thought he would go to Sony?
Glad he's out of that darkness. You can see it in his face that he was locked in a dungeon.

Exciting times ahead. Hope he can make a new Ip that burns Konami's ass.
He mentioned back when he was working on TPP before (P.T.) that if one of the higher ups did "something" to MGSV , that he would do something drastic. This was some sort of infighting that we can only speculate. I want to say an game Informer issue is where I read it.

honestly it would make sense that Kojima would go with Sony given his history with Playstation and true MGS did start back on the NES days, but lets not forget the impact the MGS series had on Playstation and how important for the PS brand.

Pretty much everyone. Kojima hasn't been associated with Nintendo for years, and the Xbox... ever. It was the most logical choice. Especially with Nintendo's in-house focus on family-friendly games. There was no way in hell they were going to take him in. Or at least try very hard to.

Sony was smart to realize how profitable Hideo Kojima has been for their consoles. Getting this sort of exclusivity will continue to guarantee their dominance in the console market.

Wow, but didn't he only leave Konami this month? No? What...he wasn't actually just on a holiday?

This has probably been going on for months just kept super under-wraps.

It was a very productive vacation.
I expected that another publisher would be quick to sign on, but I wasn't expecting the report of talks between Kojima Productions and Sony to mean that they already had an agreement.

Sorry, sorry!!!
I really, really thought it was sarcasm!
Nintendo... nah, very unlikely.
Microsoft? with the 15 or 16 Xbox One in Japan?(lol jk) much more unlikely.
His decision was the obvious and the best one.

Metal Gear actually got it's start on the MSX2, the Nes game was a shoddy port that not even Kojima liked.
