I think anime had a whole of 2 new releases this week that made it on the charts. A slow week, so western releases are topping the chart.

I guess I never really thought about it, but is animation in Japan anime-like? Do they have anything like our western cartoons or CGI shows? Just asking the entire group, not just you in particular.

Animation produced in Japan is called "anime." Period.

In terms of just animation, there is a wide variety of animation that cartoons (anime) come in. There's also a range of themes, just like in the West and anywhere else. :')

Shows like Chibi Maruko-chan and such are popular. ^u^
Common, family, daily life stuff~.
