So it turns out that even artists of erotic lolicon art have limits...
Even then, there's always the threat of the lolicon art being seized by the government with the 2020 Olympics drawing near...

Not real kids= not pedo.
Know the difference between real and fake guys, I bet the majority of the readers of this magazine know the difference and manage to stay out of jail that way.

I think it matters because they chose to read a magazine where the kids are naked. If the appeal was just cuteness, why do they have to be naked and be in sexual situations? If I were looking for pictures of cute kids, my first stop would not be an erotic magazine. It would not be any of the stops in fact. An erotic magazine is a place where you go to masterbate, though the internet is the preferred venue these days. Also they chose a magazine that features kids not teenagers who appear to be little kids. The editor said the consumers want nine year olds. Maybe they don't want a particular age but they are looking for a particular age range.

the fact that they can post publically about working on a magazine aimed at pedophiles and not fear getting arrested is really, really terrifying.

Depending on the country, real child porn and not real child porn are equally illegal, if my recollection of some ANN headlines is correct.
There is a difference between real and not real. Not real is not bad if they don't harm real kids. It doesn't make it anymore appealing to those who don't find kids cute in a problematic way. But whether it's real or not, they're still lolicons so I'll use that term in the future. Your displeasure at being called pedos is duly noted, lolicons.

The editor said they look 8 and they want them to look 9, it's about the looks.
My point stands, the point is how cute they are, whether they get off to it or not doesn't matter, they come into it for the cute girls, loli is mostly a body type too so age doesn't matter.
I do think the emphasis on age is a big deal though, because you're aiming at the wrong crowd if you need to make it clear that the characters are a certain age.

The reason people like the loli body type is because it is like that of children, though. like, drawing child porn and saying "they're 18" doesn't actually change what the drawing looks like.
Also, as an aside to others, it's obviously just not healthy to consume media that treats pedophilia as acceptable and just a "fetish" or "hobby". For every handful of people reading such material and not letting it affect them, there's a future criminal viewing such material as validating. Just because it doesn't inherently affect everybody doesn't mean it's not still unhealthy and shady.

I think I've heard that line among lolicons from pretty much everywhere, what I didn't know that it was a real universal standard. Some publishers and many fans have their limits.
The IOC and the rest of the 2020 tyranny can take their garbage plans and stick it where the sun don't shine. Loli is a key part of doujinshi end of story, take that away and it's like taking the foundation away from a house.

You are going down the road of "Drawings/prose/(video)games where people are killed are helping future criminals feel validated".

ComicLO is a bit... out there sometimes.
Looking at my copies of the magazines, 8 or 9 years old is a mighty windy line in the sand...

Right on. Whether we use it as fapping material is not here nor there. It's not real. Period.

Glad I don't live in such a country then. For residents of countries such as Canada or Britain, using digital means acquiring them might be the only recommended method despite the piracy angle. And learning adequate encryption and perhaps most importantly, some common sense...

This is kind of a racy article, it's basically outlining the erotic preferences of lolicon fans. Has it really become such a large part of the industry that it's considered newsworthy now on sites like ANN? In a way it's good to know just to get a better sense for the anime scene, but at the same time it's understandably unsettling.

You know, pedophile essentially means a person who's attracted to children, and afaik there isn't any sort of qualifier that says that you have to specifically be attracted to real children in order to be considered a pedophile. Technically, you'd just be a 2D pedophile instead of a 3D one.

I can definitely understand that sentiment. Lolis do need to be the right age range to be popular.

Either way you would face more severe punishment than doing the same thing with say a 14 year old. Although as long as their pursuit is limited to magazines, I guess it's better than molestation but still really disgusting. Rather, I could not fathom finding such things appealing, though I imagine it's not something they chose. Ultimately, they aren't monsters, just people who need help before they hurt someone. |
TIL people who enjoy fictional works solely are monsters. You can enjoy fictional media of multiple types and not need help. Just like you can go on an endless killing spree in a video game and be super hyped up about it and not need help.

Well hey you gotta draw the line somewhere. Wouldn't want people thinking that you're some kind of pedophile.
