Magic User's Club — that just makes me so happy. One of my oldest loves in anime. And from memory the sound of the old discs was a bit muddy...?

First series I really got into that wasn't related to something I saw on Toonami. Still one of my highest favorites and led me to trying a number of other favorites from the same director. Very pleased to see this one stay in print through RightStuf. I'll probably have some reasons to double dip for this release too.

This was announced at Nebraskon, of all places. I'm amazed to see it's grown large to enough to have an industry announcement (well, an industry panel at all) made there.
This anime I've never seen, but has one of my favorite Masami Okui songs

ah yes, "the what happened to my speakers?" silence of space opening.
Just may double dip on this as well. Will see what kind of treatment it gets first though.
Happy for the newer fans! Good news!

Well, Junichi Sato directed the first season and the makai/Doom Tree arc of Sailor Moon as well as this show, soooo....

I meant "related" in the sense of being part of the same franchise. I'm not sure I was aware of Sato's name much until I saw Magic User's Club, anyway.

Nice to see Nozomi resurrecting an older series for a newer generation of fans!

Double dip? Since I have a pile of seven separate cases, I'd rather replace the whole thing.
The OVAs have two episodes per disk, and I should be able to replace one of those with the whole work.
Though I don't know; I was the last one to buy the bargain set from Rightstuff at zero copies left... somehow. Maybe I'm just meant to keep it.
Anyway, great get of a very magical series.

I just started watching Magic User's Club recently and it seems pretty good. I'm glad it will get more attention, but the Media Blasters discs are still around and surprisingly inexpensive so far.

You could have. Actually, still can. Sounds like you missed the fat Magic Box that Anime Works also released for it.

One of the very first founding "Misfit members of the Whatever-We-Can-Think-Of Club" afterschool-club comedies, years before Haruhi or Yuyushiki.
Akane Aikawa is still one of the biggest snots in anime, however.

Magic User's Club was the first show I bought on DVD. I read about that show in 7th grade in Animerica Magazine on a school trip. It holds a special place in my anime heart. Since I thought it was a funny show and it kick started my anime collection. I might have to watch it over winter break for old time sake.
