I have this feeling that if Gintama did this the viewers probably wouldn't have a problem with it. Sorry but this is just dumb.

Haha, that was the main reason I was gonna comment. I love that 90s Spider-Man font. Before this, the last time I saw it used was for the Scarlet Spider comic series from a year or two ago. Also, I can't help but laugh at those that are surprised that some people aren't offended. Maybe it's because we don't all know who/what Anpanman really is? I assume that there is context many here are missing, in order to be offended by this parody. But, personally, I've seen people do worse with some beloved children's characters. I've yet to be offended. Maybe one day...?

Soooo poop and testicles are offensive for a kids' hero but seeing Anpanman getting shot through the head isn't. Riiiiight. Making sense as always, Japan.

Meanwhile South Park and Family Guy do this on a weekly basis to beloved Western children's characters, and we simply lol at them.

I agree, the jokes in those segments weren't particularly funny, but I think the censoring is stupid. I actually thought the poop joke would be right up their alley for a kiddy joke |

This is the funniest news. Dekapan-man got sent to anime censorship prison in the anime and now it's happened in real life.
I'm sure the writers of the episode are mildly amused by these events. |

@bigivel: You're totally missing the point, of course I know the image is not the "real" Anpanman. The excuse for the censorship of DEKAPANMAN was that the poop and testicle jokes were censored because it was offensive to use ANPANMAN, a beloved children hero (or a proxy/parody for said hero) for them. However, they didn't find it offensive/disrespectful that the same proxy of the same children hero was shot in the head three times in the episode. It's completely ridiculousand makes their claim about "disrespect" into absolute BS

A total shame that this had to happen.
 I understand how some people felt offended by this parody of Anpanman to an extent, but Dekapan-Man was only feeding the poor sweet fried bread treats! How is that a bad thing???
