and the poll stuffers might have gotten away with it had it been Klein.
That is amazingly obscure to chase such a brief moment character.

As a diehard fan of the wonderfully nuanced and charmingly masculine character known as Kibaou, I am disgusted by this clear example of favoritism and bias on the part of Dengeki Bunko. What are they, NewType?
It's obvious that they were unwilling to acknowledge the true desires of the fans.

LOL! Thanks to this kerfluffle, rabid, reactionary Kibaō fandom just got the potential to become a thing. Deviantart/pixiv/Tumblr, you know what to do!

I hate when people do this in character polls
There was an interesting discussion after the most recent One piece poll where a super minor character form the Alabasta arc mangled to crack top 50. There Japan correspondent Greg explained the there are IRL internet Pirate crews that were voting for their "captains" favorite character.
So yeah, ballot stuffer ruin the spirit of the poll

Klein didn't even place? This is why I don't belong to fandoms anymore.

I love when people do this. Making a poll about this is entirely pointless since you know full well what the top 5 will be (the main character, his best male friend and the 3 most important female character). The poll doesn't matter in the least, it's just a marketing plot. In fact they've showed just how much the poll is pointless since it came up as something different than they expected and they just decided that the poll is invalid because of that.

Wait... who's to say that fans weren't serious about Kibao? How exactly did they come to the conclusion that this was a case of ballot stuffing?
It's as if the poll itself was just there to make the fans feel like they actually had a say in the matter of the cover illustration.
Dengeki Bunko: Vote for who you want!
Fans vote for Kibao.
Dengeki Bunko: No.. vote for who we want you to vote for!

The Internet has made it much too easy to run "polls" that have no control over samples. They got what they deserved. Will it make them think twice about using such a bogus method again in the future? Of course not. It has nothing to do with actually involving fans in the decision-making process. It's all about making them feel like they are involved.
If they were clever about this, they would have simply generated more votes themselves for the alternatives they wanted to win. Until the results are revealed it's all a black box anyway.
