100 volumes huh? Sounds like a milestone mark.
This manga has been one of my favorites so I hope it gets another season.. |

I think the article is a little misleading. It later says that they just shipped the 40th volume, so I think he wants a 100 volumes, but he is only at 41.

Well, it's taken him 10 years to get to 40 volumes. Could be close to his mid-50s if he strives for 100...it does seem doable, pending on any health issues/burn out from writing the same series for such a long time. |

Yeah this guy is overly ambitious. Even if he makes it to 100 volumes there's no telling how good the quality of the story will be by that point.

That's quite the big number he has there.
...then again, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is already over the 100 volumes milestone (114, in fact), and the quality of the story has actually gone up from what it once was, so it's not impossible. |

The manga is based in real life and the content that he still need to cover is really long and enough to make 100 volumes or more.
The manga is in volume 40 and they still didn't really started the actual Conquest. And the conquest took many years and a huge amount of wars. With detail the author easily has content for 60 volumes. |

Pretty much this. The content is there, and he can spread things out as much as he wants. He can also add side events and fictional stuff to pad things out. There's still so much time left. I'm expecting at least 70 volumes, but 80 shouldn't be that tough to reach. I'd love for the series to be 100 volumes long, but that would take a very long time and the mangaka would be very old by then. Right now he hasn't been taking many breaks, but by that point the series would slow down that even if he's on pace to get to 100 volumes in 15 years, it might take 20 years at that point. The great news is the series still has plenty more time to go and the manga is still showing passion and the series is starting to show success in Japan. If only they can license it for an official release in the west... |

That's gonna take a long while for Kingdom to keep up with manga titles that have racked bigger numbers like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Golgo 13.
