Considering the feds already moderate /b/ I don't think anything will change much on the exterior. If anything transferring ownership over seas may reduce some of the control the feds have. As moot gave the feds massive control over /b/ because the feds still think it's a hub for child porn.
Besides, 4chan is dead anyway. It's nothing but trolls. |

One of the worst websites online, they don't do anything positive for the anime communities. Full of haters, trolls and angry 13 year olds - I wonder if the new owner can bring some order to that pit of chaos and hate.

There will probably be a lot of half or less-than-half serious doomsaying, offensive jokes and promises of mass exodus until people calm down and realize that nothing is going to change. Unless Nishimura has some serious plans for overhaul.
And a healthy dose of self-awareness... occasionally. |

Sincerely? I find that after you look past the hate /a/ is the best community for lesser know shows on the web. Anime forums and MAL are too personality focused. Reddit's upvote system bury anything that isn't appealing to the western lowest denominator. Its hard to find a better place to talk about magical girl shows or stuff like girls und panzer or even mecha shows. Evangelion discussions too work better there since the fanbase is a bit over its head when it comes to getting recognized. Chaos and hate is merely the side effect of having as much freedom as an anonymous board gives us. |
