I would be happy except that Kuroko's Basketball isn't licensed for the U.S beyond online streaming. Unless Crunchyroll or Daisuki start getting rights to stream films or OVAs, I can only be lukewarm about this and wait for a crappy fansub later on.

I really hope that the movie is either Extra Game or a new story but that takes place after Extra Game and that's canon, but NO flash back movie and NO re-telling of the series with some new scenes.

There is that, but I'm still holding out hope for a license of the series. Even if it ends up not being streamed somewhere I usually frequent like CR, I love this series too much not to see it. |

It looks like Extra Game will be just two volumes long, so a movie should be a perfect way to adapt it. If this upcoming movie is anything other than that, I won't be interested in it, to be frank.

Yessss Extra Game movie! I knew it would come, they wouldn't let this money-printing machine end so easily. Although I must say so far I've been kind of disappointed with Extra Game -particularly with how fast the pace is and how little time to shine the characters have- but I guess it's better than nothing. Now we get to see Shin-chan's tragic new haircut animated!

I have a hard time being happy about this knowing that we'll likely never see this movie on our side. Unless CR works something out so that Diskotek can distribute the TV series the chances of us ever seeing this movie get a legal release here are slim

It's a "gekijouban;" it'll be animated. If it were a live-action, it more likely would've been referred to as a "jisshaban." |
