Eh? Anime hasn't used paint in about 10 years.

I don't think anyone's coercing you into watching these movies. You could do just as well not bothering the rest of us. With your inane asides. This goes out to you too GATSU.

It's not just this story. The footage looks great but whenever I'm thinking about it, one of those godawful Hikaru Utada songs start running through my head. What happened to A Cruel Angel's Thesis, the greatest anime theme song of all time? Couldn't they have brought Yoko Takahashi back to do a remix of that, or something? Megumi Hayashibara? Anyone other than Utada? I don't want to subconsciously associate her singing with these movies, but I can't help it.

Hey what's wrong with Guns 'n' Roses?!

I didn't even knew that Japan even get Rolling Stones magazine, much alone shock that EVA on it.

As someone pointed out before, Naqdia better choice for Ecological promation more so than Eva is.

That besides the point, i dunno how the movies might turned out to be.

Ecology in Evangelion? I'm pretty sure spoiler[it was Adam and NERV who melted Antarctica. ]Thus the need to make warm-water penguins, like Pen Pen.

What are they going to do? Have the Eva Units be hybrids and run on spoiler[human souls ]AND vegetable oil?

They got some 'splainin' to do!

The science of ecology doesn't begin and end with artificial climate change. Ecology is the study of relationships between organisms and environment. Ironically, the fictional point you made is an example of precisely that, anyways.

Well, they do run on batteries, a cable, or the S2 Engine, so they're already hybrid, and have been since the original series. Smile

All I'm saying about Anno: He wants to regain some "brownie points," he should

1) Do a series THAT HAD NEVER BEEN TURNED INTO ANIME BEFORE.
1a) ESPECIALLY SOMETHING THAT'S NOT EVANGELION.
1b) "Gurren Lagann" was doing fine until the people behind it began acting like rear ends.
2) Create a show that's NOT ANTI-OTAKU.

spoiler[3) Gainax can start by working on a hentai version of "He Is My Master" since they loved the hentai version of "Evangelion" so much. But then again, that's my wishful thinking.]

And currently, Anno's -1000. And everything's going by +10 now.

Anno's Kare Kano adaptation was not an anime previously; neither, for that matter, had either of his two "art house" films, Love and Pop and Shiki-Jitsu, ever been animated.

He was involved with Diebuster's production. That's about as otaku-oriented as you can get.

Really, if you want to hate Anno so much, you have every right to. I don't care who you think is a bad filmmaker. Your current "arguments" amount to nothing more than veiled provocation.

I don't like Utada much either, and I especially dislike her rendition of Fly me to the Moon. Then again, I actually don't mind the theme song for the movie. Don't worry, I'm sure that the other 3 movies will have different artists for their opening songs.

Uh, Anno isn't working on Gurren Lagann.

Since Evangelion 10 years ago, he's worked on the following projects that arguably fit your criteria:

Love & Pop
His and Her Circumstances
Gamera 1999
Shiki-Jitsu
Koishiihito
24-jin no Katou Ai
Shiriagari Kotobuki
Mahoromatic - Automatic Maiden
Oruchuban Ebichu
FLCL
Anime Tenchou
Ryuusei Kachou
Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi
The Invention of Destruction in the Imaginary Machines
Koinomon
Sugar Sugar Rune

Is well over a dozen new projects in ten years not enough?
