Tokyopop Sponsors Anime NYC Panel - 'Manga for Grown Ups: Building Bold Adult Collections in Libraries'

Los Angeles, CA – Publisher TOKYOPOP announces its sponsorship of a panel event at the 2024 Anime NYC convention. “Manga for Grown Ups: Building Bold Adult Collections in Libraries,” which will be held on Friday August 23 rd beginning at 6pm to explore the importance of compelling and accessible manga collections for adults in public libraries across the United States.

TOKYOPOP editor Becca Chen will join representatives from other leading manga publishers to offer commentary and insights. Libraries across the U.S. are an important venue for adults to access manga. Becca Chen will offer insights on topics including specific areas of interest among contemporary manga readers and library patrons, ways that publishers are meeting this demand, and a focus on burgeoning manga genres like romance and BL (Boys Love) along with a preview of several notable upcoming TOKYOPOP manga releases.

Anime NYC is New York City's premier anime convention. A showcase of the best of Japanese pop culture in the biggest city in America, Anime NYC brings anime fans and publishers together for three days of unique exhibits, exclusive screenings, extensive panels, and appearances by some of the biggest creators in Japan. The 2024 Anime NYC convention will be held August 23-25 at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center and is a creation of LeftField Media.
