Frozen continues to dominate the scene and likely will surpass Spirited Away's sales. Congrats to the company who refuses to keep their famous rodent out of public domain (in both copyright and trademark forms).

Disc sales are down overall since the start of the decade. They really should have plied the fanbase more with some extras to basically acknowledge the fact it was the 3rd and probably final season somehow. To me it seems like that's about the potential of your average anime series in 2015 without any sort of event ticket or package bonus.

Yes, they usually do 2-3 episodes per release while an anime is still airing.

how many episodes you can store on a 25GB or 50GB blu-ray disc?
i don't see the point of releasing these blu-rays with only 2-3 episodes on them ... beside being a way to squeeze more money from the consumers
i heard 4K blu-ray discs are coming out later this year.. with 100GB something i guess you can put a whole series on it?

4 - 4.5 hours (around 11.25 24-minute episodes) is the generally accepted limit, but you can fit an unlimited length on a disc provided you can get it to about 47gb. Very rarely will anybody go over 12 episodes on a disc, but Waner Bros. has with motion comics in the past.
The entire point is to squeeze money from the consumers, so the count is unlikely to increase, even if blu-ray discs can store more.

They do it to spread out the extras over more discs, hoping that more people end up buying than just releasing in 1 big highly priced BD box.
