...with the English dubs of course. I've fell in love with the music on this series [how could you not?] and was real disappointed with the fact the LE of the first DVD didn't come with a soundtrack and I don't see plans on any of the other dvds for a soundtrack. I quick search also proved nothing towards a US release of the soundtrack.

It's rare that any company ever releases a soundtrack full of dubbed songs. You might be able to find an audio rip that was taken from the DVD itself or something, but as far as an actual OST that went as far as to completely dub over each and every song of the original, I've never seen one. Well, aside from Bruce Faulconer's DBZ dub BGM, but who in their right mind would buy that crap?

BECK does a great job on dubbing the songs for Koyuki and Maho, but I don't like Chiba's vocals all that much. They're a little too heavy metal screamy, and not enough hip-hop singy.

they did dub over every single song...

In any case I'm still hoping they'll insert a CD into one of the later volumes. I would personally prefer it over the guitar picks. If not I would love to see a double disc release with the original JP soundtrack on disc 1 and the dubbed songs on disc 2.

Right, I already knew that. I meant I've never seen a company release an all-dubbed soundtrack CD before. There's just not that big a market for it, let alone the barely popular demand of original anime soundtracks from Geneon. I doubt FUNi would release one into the mainstream market, but you're hunch on the limited edition extra could work.

The second BECK OST, Keith, is basically a remix of most of the songs anyway, so I don't see why FUNi couldn't at least make one for their own CD version of the dub. It's just a matter of how much they're willing to spend on producing them, which probably wouldn't be a lot at this point since the series is already done (through broadcasting up in Canada or wherever it was).

According to an interview I transcribed of Greg Ayres and Brina Palencia, there are currently no plans to release a soundtrack of the dub tracks due to copyright issues. People would like to see it out, as they would, but unfortunately that's how things are working as of right now.

actually, Keith isn't a remix. It's actually the origanal songs that they used for Beck. I was VERY lucky to find, what seemed, the only copy at our annual anime con. (as a side note, to continue my luck, Greg Ayres was there as a guest, as well as Vic Mignogna. I was able to get Keith signed by Koyuki. Thought that was pretty cool.)
As for the sound track with the voice cast singing, all I can say is you can try and find 'Beck', which will have, what I believe to be, the Japanese VC. If you're looking for the English voice cast singing... well, let's hope those nasty legal issues sort themselves out.

Greg and Chris Ayres were asked the same question at AnimeIowa this past weekend, and they said that the Japanese versions are available as imports and probably won't be domestically released, and that a release of the English version is well-nigh impossible. However, they did point out that the DVDs come with music videos containing the "full" versions of 6 songs, so there are some possibilities for them to make their way to your computer or ipod from there Wink

Greg said that as well in the interview, you could say, unofficially.

Maybe they can get Beck to sing the songs if they are going to dub it.

Beck doing Beck!
