Finally! I've been waiting for this to get licensed, although I would've assumed Dark Horse would get their hands on it, considering their long history with OMG.

This looks like Fujishima was transitioning to shoujo/josei.

double: That's exactly why Kodansha USA wanted it. 'Cus they know the main series is so popular. Though it makes you wonder if YUA has a second chance.

I love Oh! My Goddess very much and this one looks pretty interesting to read.

IIRC the reason we got so little of YUA [and what we got was the last few episodes of it] was because Kosuke was embarrassed about his earlier art - although to be honest from what i've seen of it its not too bad [more akin to his early OMG episodes].

In terms of companies titles that aren't from their Japanese parent companies, there are some other cases: Viz being owned by Shueisha and Shogakukan didn't stop them from having the Kodansha publication of Vagabond, Hakukensha's Skip Beat!, and Kadokawa Shoten's X/1999.
TP's ex-licenses includes Shogakukan's Slow Step and Shueisha's Planet Ladder.
I think one reason why Kodansha Comics or Viz Media mainly picks titles that are part of their parent publishing companies is to avoid potential conflict of interest.

No, this is totally seinen, with is touch of shoujo ai and potential yuri. Far too much of a "male gaze" approach for shoujo/josei. I absolutely LOVE it and can't wait to buy it!
