Right? I mean, the market is positively saturated with anime about pretty boys clamoring to hook up with a single girl. If only the industry paid attention to straight men more often. If only they turned out more shows about women clamoring to be with a single man. If only.

You have a point, but the thing is that they could do something else than more UtaPri. From what I've watched (season 1, and the first half of season 2) it's really boring, all characters seems dull and not special.
There's a potential to do something way better with the UtaPri team, and they should really "grow up" about this project.

Yeah, this is my beef with it as well. Season 1 and 2 were nice but A-1 totally left season 3 to the gutters. Bad animation, too much CGi, horrible storytelling....I can go on.

Well, this had to happen. Given that the first three seasons of Uta-Pri were released every two years, 2017 is my bet for the next season's premiere.

Back in 2011, I excepted Uta no Prince-sama to be a sweet romance anime. Was disappointed when no one confessed their feeling to anybody because of that whole 'you're forbidden to fall in love' rule. Which was stupid rule in and of itself.
Then with Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 2000%, I thought maybe Haruka would at least feel something for one of the guys or the new dude, Cecil. But no... It doesn't work out that way at all. She felt it more important to write songs for them rather then fall in love with one of them. Idiot girl.
After that, I refused to even take a glimpse of the 3rd season because of how mundane and unromantic the first two seasons turned out. Where's the love??? Where's the kissing??? The handholding??? The whispering sweet nothings into an ear??? Can you people find those actions in this series because I sure as hell can't. Instead I get another otome anime where not one, but 18 handsome, bishi guys try to stupidly and unsuccessfully win the affections of a boring looking girl without saying 'I love you' to her. Her personality is lacking in human emotion and than some.

Not really. This show is clearly really popular if it's a shojo series that managed to make it to a fourth season.

It's not a shojo series... It's an adaptation of an otome game. Shojo manga and anime are those for younger audiences. This is meant for teenage and above girls.

Shojo refers specifically to girls 7-18; you're thinking of Josei. Utapri is Shojo.

As mewpudding said, UtaPri is NOT shojo. It's based on an otome gemu, a dating sim for girls. Hence why they're all trying to get with her but she doesn't pick anyone. This is the formula for most otome animes. They don't want the girl to pick any one guy because fans all have a different favorite. It's good to have feature episodes instead, giving us a glimpse into each character's game routes. If you want to watch an anime based on otome that actually decides to pick one guy, go watch Hakuouki. Otherwise, enjoy UtaPri, La Storia della Arcana Famglia, Brothers Conflict, Diabolik Lovers, etc for what they are. Anime based on dating sims that try to incorporate every route without having the heroine pick a single guy since that could turn off fans who don't like that character.

Not really surprising, I guess, though the first couple eps. I saw of the 3rd season didn't impress me. I thought the first 2 season were cute, though I do get annoyed with otome based anime because the heroine never ends up with anyone. I wish she would even if it's a guy I wouldn't pick. LOL. I wish they would announce a season 2 for Kamigami no Asobi, but then again, maybe I don't. I really loved the first season of that one, and I'd hate to see the quality drop like with the most recent season of UtaPri.

Yeah, yeah. We all know how otome animes work. I'm not being sarcastic with you. But that doesn't the series itself more watchable. In the game, the player gets to pick the guy they like best. In the anime, we the viewers are hoping the girl picks someone. Otome animes become giant teases for those who want to see a relationship happen.
