About the Poll:
I'm a bit on the fence about the inclusion of characters from shows like Shokugeki no Sōma, since the whole premise of shows of that type revolves around cooking, and to be as best as possible, while other, non-cooking themed shows are not. It would be like to ask who is the best runner - the one who trains for a marathon, or the one who got a nice time at P.E. in high-school. Then again, the Poll is about "whose character's home-cooking we would like to eat", not "who is the best cook". Thus I'm in deep thought As a side-note, I wanted to add Vivian & Master from Kekkai Sensen, but they thus far served diner food, as in not-home-cooked. The list is definitely missing anime's Seal Team 6: Public Security Section 9 from Ghost in the Shell.

I'm glad to see the ethics committee here as I found the committee a very well thought-out organization in that it makes complete sense in it's creation, operation and actions. They aren't "evil" in the usual sense or doing what they do for the hell of it, so I'm not sure they compare to some of the others mentioned in the article. Another reason From the New World is so good.

So, Makoto beat out both Kasumi and Ukyou for best cook...
That's as it should be. |

Don't forget the government of Amestris from Fullmetal Alchemist spoiler[-- set up and controlled by a malevolent Humunculus[ for the sole purpose of committing genocide and sacrificing the nation's citizens in order to merge with God.]
Thank you for sharing such a thought-provoking comment. {Edit: And thank you for providing us with such a thought provoking retort to the comment. From now on simply report such trollish posts, there's no need to respond to them with a pointless post yourself. Thank you. ~ Psycho 101} |

What about the Akatsuki from Naruto? The fact that Yahiko started it as a peace-seeking organization but it would become a terrorist organization whose recognized leader, Nagato/Pein, condoned terrorist acts in the name of peace I find to be an interesting story idea.

CACOON from Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero would probably also count.

The Earth Federation from UC Gundam should've been here. The entire government, but especially 0083-era and Zeta-era.
They make a nuclear weapon, barely guard it, and when it's stolen, hold a naval review, where they gather a huge portion of their fleet, and after it's predictably blasted into oblivion with said nuclear weapon, do almost nothing to pursue the enemy, basically allow a colony drop, and never so much as avenge the loss or bring any of the people involved to justice or prosecute the incompetent commanders responsible for the lapse in security. No, instead, they punish the only people who WERE trying to do something. Then in response they form the Titans, a group of space SS that go around killing and bullying the space colonists, and ultimately team up with the very people they were created to root out just because there's another group opposing them for being oppressive jerks. No wonder Zeon is so popular among the space colonists. They're even worse fascist jerks, but at least they stopped wiping out entire space colonies after 0079. |

I wrote-in Hosaka (given name unknown) from Minami-ke on the poll. I already mentioned in the previous thread (when I was wondering if male characters who are good at cooking would get their own poll, glad to see they did) that he's the "Curry Fairy".
Another thing about Hosaka's cooking. It's so good that his classmate Hayami, the blatant "kitsune" (trickster fox) archetype character, manipulates him every day into making a five-star bento lunch for her just by telling him what food Haruka Minami (who the lunches are supposed to be for, though she never actually gets them due to Hosaka being too wrapped up in his own fantasy life) might like to eat. |

you have machiko ryo and ryo machiko from gourmet girl graffiti but they are the same person, you split her votes up. also im sad that Hei from Darker than Black didn't make it to the list, that guy whipped up a large amount of delicious food in a short amount of time.
Also, i think the government from Ergo Proxy should of got a mention, i wrote a few paragraphs about but then erased it because im basicly giving away the whole story, so will just leave it at ergo proxy's governing authority is far crazier than sybil or from the new worlds school board. i really liked the references to greek mythos. now that i think about it im a little let down actually, that show is as much a mind bender as psycho pass. |

If Sanji doesn't win this current poll it'll be a legitimate crime.
Also glad to see some love for From the New World. Such a great show. |

I love cooking and cooking manga, but I've never tried to make any dishes from manga. Shinya Shokudo is my favorite cooking manga because it's set in an izakaya. There are some sexist things that bother me with this manga, though.
I remember watching Cooking Papa when I was a little kid, but I don't think it's well known outside of Japan. |
