But I disagree with this notion that Nintendo was ever actually against sexualities. I think we can celebrate the features of this game instead of unfairly bashing others. I am seriously worried about this idea that anything not strictly progressive is "bigoted". It doesn't work that way in games because so many games don't even flesh out hetero relationships in games. There is an issue of money and time to develop games. Not to mention game makers should have the freedom to make any kind of relationship types they want in a creative angle.

I am happy for this news. But I think people should not be so quick to condemn Nintendo so unfairly.

Agreed. Nintendo is just taking their time making baby steps; little by little.

Also, the possibility of same-sex marriage may finally be possible with the next Tomodachi Collection installment sometime in the future after this announcement.

I kinda agree. I feel like we should let the developers make the game they want to make. If the devs put progressive themes or features in the game, that's cool. If not, I don't think it's a big deal. Let the creators do their own thing. Especially in Nintendo's case, Nintendo is like the last gaming company that would go out of their to exclude others.

Yay for Nintendo! They're learning from the tomogatchi life incident. Nothing wrong with a family company like Nintendo adding this. Some families include two moms or two dads you know Very Happy

Kids may as well get used to it, depending on the area in which they live it's not at all uncommon anymore for them to meet other kids at school that have same sex parents.

Hm, well if it's a romance simulator-ish thing this is always the first barrier. Having your target accept the kind of love you're offering.

Now let me say that I am extremely serious and I know that I don't need to marry a male character if I have a male avatar... but why even have such a warped option like that? I mean I've played Awakening and I loved the idea of marriage and kids but this is just one step too far. this isn't really "child-friendly" think of the children who's minds are still learning what's right and wrong... If they constantly have this crap shoved in their faces they're gonna grow up thinking it's okay! I mean REALLY?! I should start a petition to take that out. they should make a special game for the people that want that. I don't want to see that! and they should have the normal edition of the game be, i don't know, NORMAL!

spoiler[It's not treated as "normal", at all. Both characters are pretty nervous when they confess because they're from the same gender.
The girl even use the classic: "you must think it's gross, right?"]

IKR? It would be terrible if those kids grow up to be tolerant, accepting adults. Or even worse! If they're gay or bi they might just grow up not hating themselves for who they are. Wouldn't want that would we?

It's just like same sex relationships in the Sims dude, if you're not down with it just don't pick that option.
