Endorsement money is rarely enough to make a decent living; anyone got any figures for this event? And I doubt he would actually even get airfares paid to the Boston event unless he finds sponsorship somehow.

His hotel and plane trip are paid for by The Pokemon Company since he won the Japan National Championship.
