Brock has never looked sturdier with his stiffened muscular build. Smile

Japan gets figurines of the human characters in Pokémon! The western fandom doesn't give two bits about the human characters, it feels like.

So Brock's Japanese name is Takeshi. In retrospect, 'Brock' is not a terribly Japanese name, any more than 'Ash Ketchum' (or, for that matter, 'Misty', 'Jesse', or 'James'). I suppose some executive decided that 'Takeshi' was just too darn Japanese for Western children. Fortunately, times seem to have changed.

The only human characters in Pokémon Red and Blue who kept their Japanese names were Erika and Mr. Fuji. (Yes, even Koga was changed. His Japanese name was Kyou.)

Even today most characters in Pokémon have their names changed for international audiences.

Anyway, that figure is mighty fine. I hope they do similar ones for the other Gym Leaders. Kasumi (Misty) in that swimsuit? Oooh yeah.

Those tense, ripped muscles. That concentrated, almost pained expression. I think Brock was holding in a fart while posing for that figurine.

Misty isn't a bad choice as the Japanese name is Kasumi which means misty. The others? well it was the 90's.

They were cheesy puns & they were *cough* funny, which for a 9 year old is more important than whether the characters have their original Japanese names. Besides, there's only one Takeshi & he lived in a castle.

That looks pretty legit. I hope they make more of these! I wouldn't mind grabbing a Misty figurine or even Blue if they make one!

Brock's rock hard now, immortalized in statue form.

That's a nice figure and an obvious throw back to G/R/B/Y.
