Most knee-jerk fans will bail on the animation quality or "Eh, it's all the same!" halfway through S4, but I first started on S5 (back in the raw club days), and it's got its charm for those who just like the comfort-food of the characters and situations:
The Takoyaki "mystery", the Principal's swimming lessons, Happosai's dream, Nabiki's failed fiance-for-profit deal, and even the aforementioned shadow-boxing episode. All the good ones named. Seasons 6 and 7, OTOH, that's a different story. ![]() If you're asking "where will boredom set in?", consider yourself as having watched the last set in the series worth buying. (And if their jogged-ahead numbering includes a few early S6 episodes in the set, including the go-cart race, Kuno on the watermelon island, and the haunted school store, you've already seen the last funny episodes till the finale.) You want "repetition", just wait till Rumiko starts getting into the Daimonji/tea-ceremony episodes and won't let go. Also, is Viz cutting back and making Vols. 5-7 "Limited Editions", because of low customer interest on the post-4 seasons, or is that just their fancy name for the box with the manga included? If the former, that spells bad news for seeing Maison re-released in its entirety next (the whole mess is going to happen again, I know it!), given Viz's punishing short-attention span and snap-judgments of the audience. And they still haven't even gotten to the Movies/OVA's yet. |

I'm surprised to hear this. Given how his voice sounds, I would think pulling off a consistent French accent would be a piece of cake for him. |

Honestly I felt Set 6 is a improvement over this set since it has many memorable episodes including the Pantyhose Taro 2-parter (the closest the TV series went into Inuyasha territory), the Ukyo Sauce 2-parter, Akane's Hospital, the Xmas episode and few others. Mostly the last half of the TV series goes back to the more character driven/comedy balance it had in the early episodes. |

Okay, I'll give you the Ukyou's Sauce 2-parter. But I maintain I can't remember a thing from Season 7, apart from the finale. Nothin'...Okay, maybe the extremely annoying cheerleader. |

They've all technically been "special editions," and no the series has not been divided in any way. Also, they don't come with the manga. They all have booklets with episode summaries and cast/crew info, but only Vol. 1 contained a chapter of the manga as a PREVIEW for it's new omnibus edition. The movies/OVAs have JUST been solicited on Blu-ray in Japan, so it might take some time for those to come out here. |

Well, the finale spoiler[with Ranma's mother] made Season 7 all worth it, IMO. I don't know why, but I've also always greatly enjoyed Meet You in the Milky Way and The Tendo Dragon Legend. |

I think the real problem with the later season is they introduce the shows worst characters. I liked Ukyo, but some are down right terrible, Kuno is really annoying and Hikaru is nasty for no reason. I absolutely hate Sentaro, he's the most self centred character in the whole series, which is saying something, and even after they bend over backwards for him, he still acts like an arsehole and tries to kidnap Akane. I know it is supposed to be funny, he's just way to unlikeable for me to laugh during his episodes. Last edited by MarshalBanana on Fri Jun 05, 2015 4:07 am; edited 1 time in total |

The one character I don't like is Happosai. My god, that little pest is so annoying. He's like a poor man's Master Roshi with no redeeming qualities. There is literally nothing to his character outside of being a nasty, annoying, old pervert.
