Oh, the Queen's Blade franchise is still alive. I remember TV series announced last week that had similar style as well.

This series is so ridiculous I gave it a free pass on the egregious nudity scenes. It would be like holding a bad opinion on Kill la Kill or FLCL for not being realistic.

Looks interesting but really needs a new TV season.

Yep, pun intended that series keeps milking itself. I have pretty much given up on the show with all the yuri/GL stuff in it.

How do they expect the market to support this and the 100% identical Bikini "Warriors" @ the same time while a lot of similar softcore porn titles will flood the market around the time of release. Not that i care but what sort of business strategy is it to cannibalize your own sales.

If you mean QB is competing with Bikini Warriors, then just think of how Bikini Warriors was originally designed as a figure line. So even if they don't buy the BW anime (opting for QB anime instead), as long as it gets more people not just in Japan but globally, to buy the figures, they'll still make money. There's also lucrative pachinko machine licensing.

I kinda agree and disagree with you here; Bikini Warriors is a (presumably 1-cour) TV anime, while Queen's Blade: Grimoire is a 2-episode OVA series. However, Bikini Warriors will air this Summer Season (July-September), while Queen's Blade: Grimoire will be released starting this Fall Season (October-December), which is when most of the Summer shows start getting their home-media released, so there might be some overlap there. If anything, Bikini Warriors will have to "square it off" against the other, ecchi-centeric shows of the Summer Season, such as (but not limited to) Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai, Prison School, To Love-Ru Darkness 2nd, Monster Musume no Iru Nichijō, and Okusama ga Seitokaichō!. In addition, these two shows might still get a Summer Season air date: Ore ga Ojō-sama Gakkō ni "Shomin Sample" Toshite Gets♥Sareta Ken, and Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid. So all-in-all, Queen's Blade: Grimoire "threat level" to Bikini Warriors is pretty low. |

well that's been the main MO since season 1. hell they even have some of that aspect in Ikkitousen. its what otakus want after all. though from the looks of this , it starting to look like it might have taken place between season 2 & Rebellion, which is a shame considering that there haven't been a sequel for rebellion at all. not to mentioned the other OVAs haven't been released in the US which would mean companies might have lost interest in the franchise. |
