March 31st, 2017 will be the 18th anniversary of the release of The Matrix, which had some homages to the Ghost in the Shell film in the visuals.

Nice that they have confidence in it, but it'll probably still be as bad as the live-action Aeon Flux.

Tenchi: It's called cutting-and-pasting, not homage. Rolling Eyes

You know what doesn't build confidence for a movie that seemed like it was starting to come together by announcing who would play the main famous female lead?

It being delayed.

The film is being pushed forward two weeks, not delayed.

Wow, did my brain just switch the meanings of pushed forward and delayed?

I need to stop posting in the wee hours of the night.

My brain just stops functioning.

@walw6pK4Alo You just listed death slots. Lol.

The budget will be around 70 mil is my guess as this is the exact difference between Lucy and Salt. Aka what this film will be based on instead of GitS and i haven´t see either one. Both managed to get a score above 60 % @ rottentomatoes. Hm.
The budget for Resident Evil: Retributionis @ 65 mil so i would be surprised if i miss the mark. Well These movies didn´t kill Biohazard so GitS will survive too but the public will probably view it as a dumb videogame cutscene only (in 3D of course) after this quality work will unleased.
The Death Note movie is also "back on track" Confused. Can´t wait for the Akira abortion to come back.

A March release ha the script must be awful, another western remake of an anime already recognised as a bomb.

A release date that's less than two years away is a pretty good indication that production is going forward full steam ahead. It would take something pretty major at this point to derail it.

I wish they would make live-action Cyborg 009 since it is ethnically diverse.
