... The only positive is that I can see is Arc System Works making him fun to fight against or use in Extreme Butoden, especially if they make him and Golden Frieza get Unlimited forms like BlazBlue folks.
I guess the potential of maybe being fun in a game eventually is the only plus for a lot of Dragon Ball, even Toriyama's handiwork. |

I don't hate this new form.
It's Toriyama, he pulls new transformations out of nowhere all the time to give the heroes something new and powerful. But the Blue, it looks like someone used Colour Mode on photoshop. |

From other sources, they explained it as the new SS look that have changed because Goku spoiler[and Vegeta] had acquired the power of SSGod.
So, basically, it is the same old golden regular Super Saiyan. But turned blue, because they are a "god" now, power-wise. And I don't remember too well, but another source also said that from Goku's training with Beerus, he has come to a conclusion to concentrate on training up his normal state more, instead of acquiring new transformations, as the Super Saiyan forms are only some kind of power-ups. That way he'll be already powerful and don't need to power-up too much (hence spending too much energy) into SS2 and beyond. |

It's not given a proper-noun type of name in the film itself. The big splash in the upper right / down the right side here describes it the same way Goku does in the film, which is simply as "Super Saiyan with the power of Super Saiyan God".
