Come to think of it, Sentai's new license come only from Showgate and TBS, Grisaia was because it's a sequel. If Showgate did not have 5 shows this season, then Sentai would get drastically less.
Doesn't really bode well for Sentai and CR if they have very limited stronghold.

If I may be so bold, up until recently, I was indiscriminately, as far as eras go, watching every anime I could get my hands on, but between FUNimation and Sentai, lots of anime are being licensed but almost none of them are worth watching. After having watched niche anime like Golgo 13 (TV) AD Police + Bubblegum Crisis (OVAs) and Black Jack (OVA + Movie) recently instead of the popular mainstreams of the past, I am starting to wish some older anime and newer anime with old styles to them would get licensed (and made more often in the case of the latter), this new stuff feels like templated otaku junk when I read the synopsis.
Despite Black Jack's low points; a tree with a conscience, give me a break!; it's high points were really high and is a much better series than AoT imo and I can't believe it never got much attention. I feel the good stuff is overshadowed by the mainstream despite actually being better and artsy.

Who knows? Maybe Sentai can Dub them all! Like Funimation, But With Manga Time Kirara. I Bet Sentai won't do Manga Time Kirara Titles' First Season Dubbed but maybe just the second season.

I don't mind Sentai dubbing less. Too often VAs I strongly dislike get cast as the leads; I'll spare the feelings of their fans by not naming them...
Even though FUNimation is pretty much grabbing all the good or popular simulcasts this year it could be a blessing in disguise for Sentai and fans of niche, older anime.
If Sentai doesn't want to have upcoming months with no new releases in the future, it means they should go back to take a look at past seasons or years and find some unlicensed gems there. "Old" anime is just a dumb label and any fan that wants to buy a copy will do so regardless of any stigma. If Sentai doesn't want to release older anime anymore, Maiden Japan still can; who has shown they're not opposed to dubbing a show (e.g. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 and Momo, Girl God of Death)
Recently it seems Sentai is pursing this path since the past season was fairly soft on new licenses
e.g. Windy Tales, Guardian Ninja Mamoru (sub-only though)
May yet be hope for shows like Kaiji and Akagi

I completely agree that it made much more sense to dub Captain Earth instead of Magical Warfare. Sentai has to wisely choose what to dub. But I disagree that they are passing on dubbing too many of their bigger shows because, like I said, they do not have many mainstream titles that would justify a dub. Funimation has more mainstream titles, but they dub pretty much all of their titles.
When it comes to dubs Funimation is the exception to the rule because Sentai and other NA publishers are selective when it comes to dubbing.

I don't mind less Sentai dubs. What I do mind is the awful business decisions like casting cosplayers with no anime VA experience in lead roles, the fact that most of the shows they do end up dubbing are crap and not even popular (Serious question: Who asked for a dub of Magical Warfare?), the time it takes them to dub a series and most importantly the quality of their dubs.
I can't say that I've seen much in the way of improvement since they're still almost exclusively dubbing garbage and even their better dubs are choking in the dust of what other companies are making on a regular basis. But if the strategy does eventually lead to less stuff like Penguindrum and more stuff like Watamote (Hopefully in the process they can also learn to give the amount of care the latter series got to shows more deserving of it) then I've got no complaints.

I think it's just silly to license a series and not dub it at all, popular or not.

And yes, it's indeed sad that MGL Nanoha and Dog Days continue to be ignored; the latter being more so since it never had a debut in the U.S. |
Keep in mind that StrikerS apparently never had a release of any kind outside of Asia. At least the first two Dog Days series streamed in the west.

Despite being someone that prefers dubs, I found the one for the first two Nanoha series to be rather low quality. A couple of examples I remember from when I rented the DVDs from Netflix: They pronounced Arf's name three different ways during the first series, and throughout the series, Fate's VA sounded as if she was pinching her nose together while doing her lines.

Hmm...It seems that our viewpoints of the first two seasons of MGL Nanoha are a bit in contrast. I found the quality of the first two seasons to be quite good (in a general sense), and I thought Fate's English seiyuu sounded okay. However, I do agree that the inconsistency of the pronunciation of Arf's name was a bit jarring. Aside from that issue, I had an awesome time watching the show.

Yes, Sentai should dub all their shows, just like Funi. After all, all of Funi's shows have been best sellers: Michiko & Hatchin, Shiki, Shana Season 2 (and 3, eventually), Shangri-La, Princess Jellyfish,...

Was expecting Kin iro but a confirmation is nice. None of the new series this season are really grabbing my attention but the Dungeon one sounds entertaining and I may check out Re-Kan and the expended Subaru one as well. And finishing up Grisia as well
